Hey everyone! Here I am with Jojo Part 6, episode 14!! Whoa, this one was just full of twists and turns!!! Technically, Ermes succeeded in her plan....she just didn't count on the guy coming back as a vampire ghost thing :P This fight was crazy and stuff like using the blood to see the invisible monsters took me right back to our Shizuka days!!! In the end though, Ermes got to deal the killing blows, and wow was it satisfying to watch her get this kind of revenge/resolution. I wasn't ready for Gloria to show up at the end, OMG!!!!! :'D And now Jolyne KNOWS stuff, specifically what I'm not sure, but she knows enough to make her stay strong and keep going even in these horrid conditions!!! Can't wait for what's next! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

That's the thing, I think they did an interesting twist on the whole revenge story here! Her VA totally killed it and that end fight scene was so satisfying!!! OMG I'm so glad you like my theory hahaha!!! Since I'm not great in the kitchen I'll stick to this kind of cooking ;) Omg wouldn't it be amazing if they figure out he's trying to turn them against each other, and they instead start to team up against him? Like they start finding out that he hid the whole fact that they're part Joestar from them and start looking into it more.....dang that's a fanfic waiting to happen haha!!!! XD

Stay out of it” thing has me thinking, “Come on,” usually, but even though that was Ermes’s goal, it felt justified and more so when you know the story. It's not the usual vengeance runaround because she's ready to take that initiative. “Rationality” does not apply here. She knew she would cause harm by being reckless, even with a game plan, but all for Gloria’s sake and herself. The VA killed it. You felt that sorrowful satisfaction at the end. Also, I'm reeling from the thought of another son of Dio and Giorno emulating the infamous rivalry. That would be so epic! Keep cooking Hime :O

LOL yeah I had no idea how weird that scene was really gonna get! Omg he for real gets very, erm, specific in these monologues, right? LOL sometimes it basically feels like I'm watching wrestling! Hahahaha yup, not even sure why I wear makeup at this point! Ok thanks, I was trying to remember what exactly happened in that scene with Pucci, even then though, like why not just give Sports Max the bone? Did he not actually have it, was he just showing him a memory image of it or something? Like why make him go get it? So then Jolyne must've found out something else on the disc that's set her on such a mission, I wonder what it could be! Hahaha nope, I'm never alone....I do have Cursed Jotaro after all :P OMG boring never ever comes to mind during this show!!!

And yeah, she wants her revenge but isn't like, totally clouded by it either. I can totally see the Polnareff similarities! Ohhhhh the toilet/pipe similarity too!! And the zombies, whoa! I like the FF nickname! Oh yeah, I noticed that we don't even bother with Jojo anymore! They didn't call Jotaro that in the second half of SDC and Josuke only got called that in the first ep by those bullies. And the quick sentence explaining it used to be Jolyne's nickname. I'm glad you warned me!!! It was pretty emotional!

That's so interesting about the Latin, it's lucky they were able to get something so similar sounding/looking that's technically different! It's definitely a far cry from "Zipper Man" :P

2024-02-20 22:36:14 +0000 UTCI meant to bring this up in the last episode but since they recapped it here: DIO’s “quest” - he isn’t applying that you can change the shape of your soul to that of a Stand, is he? Obviously I keep my actual beliefs and the different “afterlife” ideologies present in anime separate - so that’s kind of what I was wondering about here. Oh, and by the way - I think FF’s likability went up rather significantly after they blasted an invisible crocodile from the inside. Most of the episode is more focused on Ermes, but we can’t “overlook” that. Oh, great - invisible zombies. Just what we needed. Is this like a weird reference to Hollow Man? (I might’ve said that already…) MH: “This is gonna get really awkward for her…” Me: and we haven’t even gotten to the part where he strips without touching any of his clothes yet. 😅 But I dunno, clearly she’s “for hire,” so who knows what weird things she’s seen in here - probably not quite as strange as Jolyne though… I was thinking that when Araki writes out villain “about to win” monologues” he sure likes to get, I’m… descriptive. In fact, I think he might get a kick out of making these people so unlikable. Also I think your bloodlust is showing, are you sure you’re not watching s wrestling match? 😅 Every time a ghost of a good person appears, Melissa’s makeup is done for… you can set your watch by it. 😂 Oh, you asked - but Sports Max was only dealing with White Snake, Puccini was hiding behind the pillar. So it’s possible Jolyne may not have ascertained his identity if that’s the case. I have TWO questions: 1) What’s Jolyne planning to do in Ultra Security? 2) Why would a bone of DIO’s be hidden somewhere in this prison - and why does Pucci need someone else to retrieve it for him? Just remember, even when you’re alone - you’re never REALLY alone… 👀 Hey, they don’t call it JoJo’s BORING Adventure, for sure! 😁

2024-02-19 16:00:20 +0000 UTCHey Melissa! First of all, I would of course like to address your totally cool new merch. I think everything new you've got is really awesome. I especially like the Part 2 blanket. The Jotaro plushie really looks a bit cursed, but somehow also cute. Kiss of Love and Revenge is such an amazing arc! An arc fully driven by character emotions that gives Ermes a well deserved and outstanding spotlight. Revenge stories can be written in different ways; there's the more "simple" one like Polnareff avenging his sister, and the more complex ones that talk about the cicle of hate and the morality of revenge. And Ermes's revenge comes with an interesting idea, making her acknowledge those complex feelings about revenge but basically saying "f*ck it, I don't care." That about acknowledging those kinds of "revenge is bad" stories reflects specially in her speech about revenge. I think that aspect is pretty interesting. The beatdown is emotionally amazing, even more so in the anime thanks to the use of quick flashbacks and the perfect music choice (a song from Part 3 by the way) and amazing visuals and voice acting in the final Stand rush. And talking about the anime adaptation, oh boy this was amazing. The best we've had in Stone Ocean so far, already better than anything from the first batch. Not necessarily on animation terms but in terms of an adaptation. Things like new scenes (Little Ermes and Gloria in their mother's funeral, Ermes's dad appearing instead of being only mentioned, Ermes seeing Gloria's body being rescued in the water), Ermes telling most of the story instead of that being F.F like in the manga, many narration of Ermes's backstory being turned into actual scenes, or Gloria's ghost hugging Ermes are all great adittions from the anime. In the next episode you will finally get to know Part 6 Diavolo. I'm really looking forward to hearing what you have to say about him. Because he's my favorite character from Stone Ocean. As always, I'll add the fanart in a second comment.

2024-02-19 14:59:15 +0000 UTCHi Hime :) Eating bread with bugs on it is certainly disgusting, especially after someone threw poop in your face, but it is above all a demonstration of Jolyne's resolve to survive all that and bring Jotaro back to life and that... it's one of the reasons that I love Jolyne. For Ermes, from the moment you met her and said you liked her, I knew her story would resonate with you. She is certainly focused on revenge, but she also tries to protect Jolyne and F.F by trying to push them away. Ermes is a true jojogal (feminine of jojobro?), ready to do anything to achieve her goal and protect those dear to her. In a way, she is a bit like Polnareff, especially since her first fight was against a guy in the toilet and there she drowned Sports Max in a sewage pipe... but the whole story of revenge for a deceased sister and getting eaten by zombies, I can easily see the "first time huh..." meme with these two. For F.F, yes it's Foo Fighter, but it would take too long to say each time, so F.F is his little nickname. By the way, speaking of nicknames, I don't know if you paid attention, but Josuke is the last "Jojo", Giorno was called by his first name and Jolyne too, we just have a quick sentence saying that Jolyne's mother called her Jojo and that's all. In any case it wasn't the fall of Niagara, but I think it was still more prudent to tell you to have the tissues just in case ^^.

(Edit: Sorry, I meant Limp 'Bizkit'... xD ) When All Star Battle came out over here, their first attempt at localizing this name was: "Flaccid Pancake", which is just hilariously bad. xD I'm actually surprised how close they got to the name with 'Limp Viscuit' though, which 'Viscuit' here apparently is Latin for 'He Lives'. Honestly I wish they could put this kind of effort into every localization name for Jojo.
