Hey everyone! Here I am with Jojo Part 6, episode 2!! Oh dang, prison life is pretty bleak for our girl right now! I hated seeing her get bullied! But WOW was it satisfying when she finally stood up for herself! Also, Gwess was quite the terrifying cellmate lol. Who knew we'd be doing stuff with rats again (remember the rat episode?? lol)?! And Goo Goo Dolls kinda reminds me of Formaggio's "Little Feet"! Also, where the heck is Jotaro?! Cmon dad, hurry!!!!!!!! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Hahahah it's crazy to think that Charlotte was the most normal part of that episode haha. Lol I've gotta make the most of my Jojo time you know, so there's no reason to rush these reactions! ^_^ Yeah this was like a bizarre version of an initiation. Poor Jolyne! Gwess/Guess (the actual name is Guess, I found out later) is really putting her through the ringer here! Hahahaha nothing like a good rat cosplay! She's definitely Jotaro's kid though!!! OMG Giorno took over the mafia, now Jolyne's gonna take over the prison yard lol. That's interesting about the 3 parts. I'm guessing probably all the people in the intro got a hold of that arrow and have Stands now lol. Oh thanks for the info about the autoplay, I've gotta do that! Thanks for the info!

(I'd already started my "rebellious" phase of listening to nothing but classic rock by then haha.) It is a really good one! I'm sure it's gonna hit me even harder after I've finished this part and it already makes me sorta wistful just because of the tone of it lol!

Though I wouldn't be shocked if I just heard it in a mall somewhere. While I'm sad that we don't have other EDs, this is a good choice for Stone Ocean. I can't listen to this song without getting all teary eyed anymore. xD

2024-01-26 05:01:15 +0000 UTCYou know, we started this episode talking about Locobaroco (the warden) and his pet plushie, Charlotte - apparently he is a… ventriloquist? And that was probably the most “normal” part of this episode. Well, technically you do already kind of slow down time during a JoJo reaction because: they’re a lot of things, but “short” is not one of them. :P This whole episode seemed like the whole “initiation of the new kid,” except we made it a lot weirder. And Gwess is the bully. She literally puts her stuff on the top bunk and then bites off Jolyne’s head when she tries to take the empty one. Then she finds out it’s Jolyne’s charm, she bought it from Ermes (?) for two dollars and now wants two hundred, and throws away the personal effects inside. She dumped water on the floor so Jolyne would miss breakfast and Gwess could take double - and that’s even before we got to the Stand issues. I smell a rat. There, had to get in at least one… maybe she’s cosplaying as Little. But that’s actually not a bad idea to use that to scout - until Gwess tried to betray her and set her up to be killed. Hmm… seems like Jotaro’s daughter is getting a lot of that trope, two episodes in. She’s definitely Jotaro’s kid, though, between the “yare yare” and the Ora Ora she have to Gwess - she’s pretty much saying she’s not the prison b, she’s gonna be the prison boss. Huh, this sorta feels like Giorno. But I get the feeling this first part (there are 3 parts to this season according to MAL, 1-12, 13-24, and 25-38.) is going to be a lot more about her prison life and her rise to the top of it. I’m not expecting Dad to show up anytime soon especially somewhere this isolated. The last thing they said about mom was she was worn out. If Ermes had the charm - does she also have a Stand now, too? Something to think about. And I’d like to point out that you said you were happy to see Jolyne “Stand” up for herself. Yare yare….. PS: Regarding Netflix, you can change auto play requests at the end of the episode in the Settings menu. Basically the Netflix Logo sound indicates the beginning and the end of an actual episode’s filming: anything past that is only credity credits for other languages, so you know when it’s safe to stop.

Like think of all the intros other Jojos have gotten....saving someone from corrupt police, being "possessed", getting a bombshell dropped about your parentage....and then there's this hahahaha! Yeah it doesn't sound like Jolyne gets along too well with Jotaro, if I had to guess I'd say maybe it's because he wasn't around much. But here's hoping they patch things up during this part! It makes me sad to think of him being a bad dad! Ohhhh so they weren't actually saying Gwess? I should have been listening harder! Yeah I thought of Little Feet right away haha! Ohhhh no kidding about the big event! I would've loved to have been there! That's too bad that the initial reaction to the manga wasn't favorable though! I can see how going from Italy to a prison would be a bit of a switch lol. I've always felt like Araki was a bit ahead of his time in things he wanted to do. I've heard about Netflix's handling of the season and it's so sad to think of how it affected the show! I'm lucky that I get to watch it all at once! Ahhhh I hear the ending is like the best ending of all time haha, I can't wait but at the same time I'm gonna be SO sad if we don't have any info for Part 7 by then!!!! Here's hoping!!!! 2024-01-24 16:17:49 +0000 UTCYay! Stone Ocean is here!!! Hi Hime! :) I'm so excited for you to watch this part! It's in my top three behind part 4 and 7. What an introduction to Jolyne, right?? Let's hope Jotaro comes quick to help her! Though will she be happy to see him? The way she reacted to the lawyer mentioning him in the first ep makes it seem like they might not have the best relationship. But we'll have to wait and see Also, Gwess is actually a localized name. The real name is supposed to be Guess (I know not super different, but I thought it was worth mentioning) and that is a reference to the clothing brand. There are actually quite a few localized names for characters in this part. I feel like more than the other parts had. Her stand does kind of remind you of Little Feet huh? lol To give a little bit of backstory: This anime had so much hype when it was announced. There was like a whole event for it and everything in Japan. They had all the Jojo voice actors and stage and then they introduced the VA for Jolyne! People seemed really excited for this. Which is good considering, when the manga was coming out in the early 2000s, a lot of readers we're not into it. At least from what I've gathered, a lot of readers were still young males and it didn't seem like they we're very interested in reading about a female lead. Which sucks! I don't think the setting helped either, I can see a prison setting being boring for me if I was a kid. Even when the manga was fan translated years ago, people would speed read through this part to get to Part 7. And it's kind of like jokes on them , for a variety of reasons haha The thing is though, Netflix kinda killed the hype with their release schedule. There was a thing referred to by the community as "Jojo Fridays" because a new ep would come out on Fridays every week. But instead Netflix decided to go with a batch release schedule. It would be 3 12-episode batches and I believe they had alluded to the fact that they would be released every 3 months. The first one came out on time on December 1st, 2021. But the second batch didn't come out until September of the following year! ;O I think by then a lot of people had lost interest. This was worsened by the fact that the third and final batch came out 6 months after the second Luckily, you won't have to go through that! I really hope you love this part as much as I do! We'll have a lot of things to talk about once we reach the end Also, let's keep our fingers crossed for a Part 7 announcment! Can't wait for your reactions! :D

What?! That's crazy that he actually visited the US and researched prisons!!! Oh, well, that sentence takes on a whole new meaning when you consider what Jolyne was doing with her, erm, interpretation of the sky through the bars LOL!!! OMG you guys did so great because I was like on the HUNT for clues about Jotaro's family hahaha!!!! I'm so excited that I was right! Oh wow, I can't wait for Jotaro to show up and be the mentor again! Ohhhh I didn't guess that (lol) about Guess but I was wondering about Elvis Costello! He was the only singer with that name I could think of! WHOA!!!! I love that interpretation of Jolyne's stand, wow!!! That makes so much! Thanks for the info on the name situation, I'd guess that about her mom being American too! Ohhhh yeah, the circle really is complete! And now Holly has to be the one in a different country from her kid/grandkid (unless she moved back to the US at some point, which I guess is possible)! I can't wait to see more of the openings! She's definitely got her dad's traits haha! But I can totally see lots of Joseph, Holly, Josuke, etc. in there too! I can't wait to get to know her better! It sounds like she's gonna have quite a journey - even if it doesn't look that way from prison right now lol!

Like yeah it's the name of the part and it's close, but the meaning of it is lost in that translation. OMG!!!! I cannot picture things getting MORE BIZARRE but wow, it sounds like I'm in for it! 2024-01-22 20:39:33 +0000 UTCIt really was a very eventful second episode. Gwess always reminded me a bit of Choccolatta, especially the way she treated her pets. That's pretty creepy. She's also generally a person I wouldn't want to share a prison cell with. So I don't envy Jolyne at all. Her stand, Go Go Dolls, doesn't have the most imaginative ability either, as it's very reminiscent of Little Feet, but I thought it made the episode very interesting, especially because Jolene was in a rat costume and therefore reminded me a bit of Part 4. Daddy Jotaro soon makes his grand entrance. Admittedly with an outfit that I'm not so fond of, but I'm looking forward to seeing him in a part again. The first opening for Stone Ocean is also really very good. I think it's really great that they've brought back the 3D animation, which I didn't really expect. The song is also very good. We have a female singer for the first time, which also fits the part. Nevertheless, Stone Ocean (as the opening is called) is not one of my favorite openings by Jojo. There are definitely better ones. But I love the ending even more. It has a very melancholic sound and often made me cry because of events in the episode. It's similar to the endings of Vinland Saga and Frieren. I already knew Duffy as a singer because she has some well-known songs that are popular in Germany. That's why I was pleased that I finally knew a song or a singer before I heard the Ed. You can find more fanart in the second comment.

She is a fan of Jojo and Jolyne and was really happy to be able to play her. As you said, Jotaro begins in prison, Jolyne begins in prison, it is of course a wink that Araki gives us with this situation. Besides, he really went to the United States and visited prisons to find out how everything was going there, before starting this story. One of the sentences that described Jojo according to Araki in the first volume was, two prisoners looking through the bars of their cell, one sees the mud, the other the sky, we know what Jolyne was doing at the same time lol. You remember my theory that jojo's stands have to do with life, a thread connected by a finger, you see where I'm going with this. For me Stone Free is a materialization of the thread of destiny. For the name Cujoh and not Kujo, it is also written like that in the manga, since the story takes place in the United States, it is assumed that it is the Americanized version of her last name, because as much It seems to me, her mother is American. There is also another possible explanation, but I will come back to that later. Also, with Jolyne, the circle is complete, since Holy is an American who married a Japanese man, Jotaro is a Japanese man who married an American woman. 2024-01-22 16:32:58 +0000 UTCSo here's the thing that bothers me about how they translated Joylne's Stand name... ...In the last part, replacing 'Golden Experience' with 'Golden Wind' was fine since it was just the name of the part. It's was a great solution to the problem of trying to find a new name. ...However 'Stone Ocean' doesn't work because Joylne in universe explains why she named her stand 'Stone-Free'. BECAUSE SHE'S BREAKIN' OUT THIS STONE OCEAN, SHE'S BREAKIN' FREE. Which is why calling it 'Stone Ocean' in the dub just really bothers me. I can see they're going for the 'Golden Wind' play again, but it just *doesn't work* in this situation. If you thought Jojo's Bizarre Adventure was weird before, I feel like this was the part where Araki was introduced to Wikipedia. xD I'll warn you about the ending though... It can be a little confusing. After you get your initial thoughts out in your reaction, you should probably have a little follow-up video when you get a proper explanation for what had happened. That's all I'll say about that. Also Joylne helped inspired Juri from the Street Fighter series, of course while Joylne doesn't deserve to go to prison... Well... The same can't exactly be said for Juri. xD
