*Short fan story* Girls & Bridle and cookies by Trasric

Hi guys. Trasric sent me this short story as a Christmas present, and it is ADORABLE! I just had to share it with you all. :) My patrons are the best.

Girls and Bridle and Cookies!

"Star? Where's Moonlight?" shouted Sophie. The young pony seemed to be missing again.

Morning Star had made herself comfortable under a tree in the paddock, studying one of her beloved Racing magazines.

"Dunno!"

"How can you not know? You've been together all this time, and now she's gone." - "Again!"

Morning Star sighed and reluctantly looked up, "Hmmm… Let me think… A while ago, Moonlight suddenly jumped up and ran in 'that' direction."

There is nothing interesting in 'that' direction. Just the farmhouse a few miles back, pondered Sophie.

"You must be mistaken. I just went to the house for lunch, and there was no one there. Just Penny baking cookies for the charity event this weekend. Damn! Where the heck did this crazy pony go again?"

"Moonlight... cookies..." interjected Morning Star again into the discussion. "Do I have to tell more?" Morning Star was annoyed. She wanted to continue reading her magazine.

"Cookies! Of course. I can't believe it. She must have waited til I left the house and then started running there. - Cookies! If she keeps this up, she'll end up not as a racing pony, but as a fat mule!"

"Star?"

"Hmmm..."

"Can you go get her, please? You can take the direct route and be faster than me with the car. Besides, it would be good extra training."

"No!" came back the short answer from Morning Star.

"What do you mean by 'No'?" Sophie was totally perplexed. "You love to run, and you had to go without it for such a long time. And now a 'No'?"

"Well, it's not about running, it's about Moon. When it comes to cookies, she gets stubborn."

"Like a mule..." commented Sophie.

"Yes, like a stubborn mule. She's stronger than me, and I could never get her to come back. Especially if she knows you're going to scold her. - So I wish you good luck and my best wishes to Penny too. I hope she will have some cookies left for the charity," she said before delving back into her magazine.

Sophie sighed and went back to the car to drive to the farm again. Stupid detour! Morning Star would have been there in a quarter of the time. She had somehow imagined her lunch break to be more relaxed. Catching unruly ponies was not one of her favorite activities.

When she finally arrived at the house, she found Moon sitting happily at the kitchen table. She was sorting a pile of cookies by shape; Star, half-moon, and round ones. It smelled heavenly.

Just as Sophie was about to start scolding, Penny said, "I let her have the cookies. They were in the oven a little bit too long, and she made me a firm promise to share with you and not to eat them all at once."

Meanwhile, Moonlight had finished sorting the cookies. There were now three piles of somewhat equal size on the table.

Sophie had to smile involuntarily. A pile of star cookies for Morning Star, the moon cookies for Moonlight, and the simple round cookies for herself. Tasty! - Pennies cookies are really the best, though.

But somehow, Moonlight didn't seem to be quite satisfied yet. Following a sudden inspiration, she pushed the round cookies to the moon cookies.

"Heh!" Sophie snapped, "those were for me!"

"Sorry. They're all moon cookies. Half-moon and full-mooooon!" With that last word, she took a round cookie and twirled it teasingly between her fingers. "See, that's a full moon! Mine! "

In the background, Penny had to laugh uproariously. "She sure got you on that one, didn't she? Best put the cookies in these small bags here. You can use them as a reward for doing well.

When everything was tucked away, there was one lone cookie left on the table.

"What about this one?" asked Sophie.

"I don't know. I had no idea where to put it. It got a hole in the middle. But you can have it. SOOOOphie. - Oh! It's almost one o'clock. Gotta go. Break is almost over, and I don't want my trainer scolding me." With that, Moonlight was out the door and quickly vanished behind the next hill.

Sophie was still standing in the kitchen with her O-cookie in hand. Just as she was about to bite into it, Penny spoke up,

"Hey! Cookies are only for good performance, not for being late. I don't think you'll make it back to the training paddock in time."

Sighing, Sophie put the cookie back on the table and sprinted back to the car. She left Penny behind, who was putting a new tray in the oven, and the lone cookie, who had to wait for her to return.

Trasric is a patron. He will see all the good comments I hope. :)

Great story. Follows flow of story. Thanks for sharing. Tell author thanks

Super good idea. :)

I love it. The cookie stealing is SO part of Moonlight's personality. She had done it twice in the chapter I had written. ;)

If I didn't know better this could have acutally been part of a 'normal' chapter. Just fits so well with the atmosphere of the story.

This one is adorable too, I love it. Thanks Trasric (and Tiger) for sharing it
