Would you be interested in an annual membership?
Pros:
- Cheaper for you
- Fewer transaction fees for me (which takes about 10% away from me on top of the 8% Patreon platform fees)
- Fewer declines due to bad/expired payment methods.
- You'll still have the option to pay monthly
- Will prevent new patrons from stealing content and leaving before the payout date. (which is a real plague)
Cons:
- Will need to charge upfront (Right now you are paying for the consumed month)
- Will have to ensure there is a smooth transition not to alienate you, my beloved patrons.
- New Patrons will be more hesitant to join since they won't be able to consume content before paying. (which is not that true since my stories often go public after a month. Pretty sure most of you knew what you were getting into)
Prices: (this is just speculation at this point)
- 2$ would be 24$ annually (remain 2$ per month, which is the absolute minimum I'm willing to charge)
- 5$ would be 50$ annually
- 10$ would be 100$ annually
- 20$ would be 200$ annually
Again, this is just exploratory. Let me know if you have any comments or questions.

Thanks for the compliment. :) ... My horror story didn't go down well with people hehe... but yes, I'm trying to publish a variety of stories to entertain everybody. :)
2020-11-04 21:10:37 +0000 UTCThe monthly option would remain. In order to activate the annual membership, i would have to activate the charge upfront option. That means that new patron would have to pay before seeing the content.

It would however have been a big hurdle to only start with a yearly option, I might not have done so..., to my own regret. However, if you keep the monthly option and you give the reduction of handling fees to the patreons will you get enough out of it? It will not stop the people leaving the last day of the month..., which is a shame in itself.

2020-11-04 19:21:43 +0000 UTCI might be open to an annual option. I love your work and would be happy to do an annual option if that is better than you. Some people might get sticker shock. Intellectually everyone knows that 5 +5+5 is =15, but in practice many people "feel" like multiple smaller payments are less than one big one. Your writing is a huge step above the competition in terms of quality, and I am more than happy to pay for it. Your foray into horror greatly demonstrated your versatility as a writer.
