Afterword - Fox & Spice Ep. 01

It all started at the very beginning of my Patreon adventure. My first patron, I won't name him cause I didn't ask, wanted to give me a hand, and proposed an idea for a short story.

Back then, I wanted my short stories also to be side stories to my main series. So, his idea of a woman going to a fetish club to "save" her daughter from the evil sex maniac before discovering that she liked it too, was not something I knew what to do with. I put it in the pile of unused ideas that I could tap into as needed, with no clear intention of getting to it one day.

Everything changed after I wrote The Sun I Can See chapter 2, when Alex and Miles went to a Fetish club called Fox & Spice. This new place was very intriguing to me. I had a clear idea of what it looked like in my head, and I really wanted to return there at some point.

So when I started thinking about creating short side stories for The Sun, I immediately connected with my Patreon idea. It was perfect. I would use the Fox & Spice and its staff to create a series of short stories that have nothing to do with the main series' main characters.

If you are old enough, you might remember an old American TV show called Highway to heaven that aired in the mid-80s. I was absolutely not religious back then, but I remember watching this series a lot because it was fun. Basically, it was an angel and a bearded dude that walked across the land and found people to help. I loved it.

I wanted Fox & Spice to be a little bit like that. It will be a bunch of small stories, people with problems will end up at the Fox & Spice and end up being helped by the staff.

The two staff members I created in this episode were Nyssa, or Mistress Nyssa, and Trish.

I can tell you this already, Nyssa is co-owner of the Fox & Spice, but also like to play Mistress on occasion. You'll see more of that in the 4th chapter of The Sun I Can See. I don't mind telling you that as it won't matter, and if you know beforehand, you'll just be happy to see her show up out of nowhere. :)

Trish, I didn't expect her. When the small waitress wearing fox ears greeted Kathie, I was charmed. I tend to do that a lot. I fall in love with my characters. I guess she has some Kitty inside her; happy, positive, playful. 

Trish will be my special one. Not only will she be very present in the next episodes, but I also want to tell her story. Why is she working at Fox & Spice, and why is she so happy. I can't wait to have time to spend on her.

Kathie and Ellie were not very important. It's unlikely that we will see them again, but who knows. 

What was interesting with Kathie is that I needed to take her from a point where she hated the thought of a fetish club to a point where she would end up respecting it. I needed to do this credibly. I don't think people would have appreciated if I had written her in a way that she hates BDSM, then once she is at the club, she realizes that BDSM is fantastic.

Instead, I asked myself why she would hate it in the first place. I gave her a simple back story, she got pregnant, and her male just left as a douchebag. Her daughter became the joy of her life, and thinking that she would end up in the hands of sadistic abusers made her lose her perspective. There is a reason why most of us are not open to discussing our kinks with friends and family. It's that same fear.

Then the work started. I obliterated Kathie's fears by asking her ID, having her makeup tested for drugs... to enhance the feeling of security and then surrounding her with friendly people, like Trish. She was the opposite of what she expected. Then Nyssa and Mei(remember Mei?).

The little scene behind the curtain had to be plausible as well. I couldn't have done that without having Kathie admitting that she had been wrong all along. Once she admitted it using her inner voice, there was a door open for Nyssa to play a little bit with her. Of course, it had to be very light BDSM. A heavy spanking or whipping session would never have worked.

As she was walking out, I needed a nail in the coffin. So I made her bump into Alex. It was a cheap shot, I admit. Using a cute blind girl to demonstrate that good people frequent this establishment was an abuse of power and a bit too convenient. But hey ... I love Alex. So why not! I'm the author, after all! I can do whatever I want! (excepted to Erika cause she will gut me like a fish) :D

So I hope you liked this little afterword and I hope you are looking forward to the next episode of the Fox & Spice. I think it's going to be one of my favorite short side series to do for upper tiers. :)
