Superman (1978) - FULL LENGTH Movie Reaction

Happy NEW YEAR to all you wonderful, amazing people <3 I hope you are all doing well!

HOLY GUACAMOLE I freaking loved this movie! Superman was such a likable dude, I really enjoyed everything about him as well as his other persona, Clark Kent. For the 70's I was honestly impressed by the effects, seeing him fly around so gracefully was my favorite part of this movie. I may have an unpopular opinion here but I was NOT a fan of Lois Lane. I found her to be somewhat self-centered and obnoxious, and I'm not even going to get started on Ms. Tessmacher -_- Regardless of some things here and there that I didn't care for, still really enjoyed the movie. I hope you enjoy my reaction :)

P.S. There will not be a WATCH ALONG for this movie. I unfortunately have been dealing with ear infections in both ears the past couple days and when recording this I had to take many breaks to get through the movie. I apologize!

Love your reaction. My first time reacting to your content!

I hope your ear aches go away soon!! I get ear aches frequently so I can understand how painful and annoying they are!

The John Williams theme for this movie is probably the greatest character based music ever composed. I believe it was John Williams who said, if you listen, when the 'S' shield fades back and you see 'Superman' on screen, the music actually says his name.

Superman is technically the very first superhero film ever made.

oh, and i forgot, yeah, Lois is kind of a B****. i LOVE how you see the cringey things, or rather how we realize that teschamcher's kiss was nasty, or for that matter the military guys treatment of her on the road at her "accident". Lois and her shallow & callous treatment of clark/superman. and on and on.

wow! that was a lot like watching the movie for the first time again for me! i think i was 10 years when i saw this in the theater! okay, some things that i think you caught a hint of as you are an adult, not 10-year-old me: clark/superman believes in people more than they believe in themselves, he sees the best in them. his honest and humbly surprised "surely you don't mean that!" to Lois when she says he'll have to clean up every politician. think of the terrible burden of being clark and superman - "oh clark, he's nothing". hiding who you are every day. would any of us be able to do that day after day, taking the ridicule and poor treatment, knowing deep down that we are better than that? he does what's right, what he promised to do - he saves miss teschmacher's mother as promised first, then the kids and the town. then, at last he goes to save who he cares for personally, only to find that doing the right thing has cost him dearly. and.... his own code of honor, his keen sense of right, his space-dad's admonition to NOT mess with time.... he violates all of that, to save her. what else might he do with if faced with that terrible decision again?

The tag line for this movie was 'You'll believe a man can fly.' They developed a new process to make the flying look as real as possible. As to why Jorel didn't build a bigger ship, there was a scene in the theatrical cut where security is going to Jorel's quarters due to excess energy usage, but they get crushed. I always assumed if Jorel built a bigger ship they would have been onto him sooner and that's why he made a small ship for Kalel. Ms. Tessmarker. Welcome to the '70s where casual sexual assault, especially against men was a non issue. I've also always wondered what Superman would have done after Lois died if Lex Luther was right there. He was not happy.

Btw, I hate that speech at the end of Kill Bill2! It’s just Quinten Tarantino spewing out negativity and NONSENSE about Superman thru the mouth of David Carradine. Superman loves humanity, and devoted his life to protect them and Earth from evil. His parents raised him up right (as a human).

Superman has been around for a minute! I believe he was invented in the 1930s. As Clark Kent, he just blends in the bustling hustling city of Metropolis with the suit and hat, HAIR CREAM of a typical businessman of the day. Yes, the movie takes place in late 1970s, so it’s a little different than his original timeline. I’ve seen entire videos/ discussions about confused people who keep on asking why nobody recognizes him just behind a simple pair of glasses. Well DC comics got tired of that question in 1 million fan letters over the years too, so they explained it as follows: everyone Clark Kent meets in person, he uses a light hypnosis on them thru mesmer stare- which puts a mental block on people so they don’t make the connection between himself and Superman. It would be easy for him to avoid getting caught in the background of any camera picture taken as Clark or Soop by moving lightning fast and not show up on camera for just a millisecond... it would be too quick for the human eye to notice too.
