Bad Batch 2x02 "Ruins of War" - Reaction & Review
Added 2023-04-27 11:54:09 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2, episode 2 of The Bad Batch! Awww we get to see poor Omega try to make up for the responsibility she feels in all this, followed by a sweet moment with her and Echo! We also learn a lot about people by meeting a resident of this planet who before would have just been labeled a nameless, faceless Separatist....when in fact the people of this planet were being exploited too. Alas, no treasure for us today! But I'm still looking forward to what we'll be dealing with this season. It was a great two-parter / way to get things rolling! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

2024-11-11 14:47:13 +0000 UTCLearning everything about Serenno and the Seperatists in this episode was so interesting. Wrecker with his new cannon was really funny, it’s the simple things in life lol. And of course, we can’t just get the loot and clear the debt with Cid, that’d be too easy :/ really good two episodes to start off the season and show how the art’s improved after a like two year wait!

2023-05-03 17:30:13 +0000 UTCPoor Wrecker! I know, Tech might seem unassuming but he's clearly a boss for being able to do all that while suffering through a broken leg! Such a good point about this giving them something to think about past what they've been doing their whole lives. Hahaha Wrecker becoming a tank seems pretty fitting! Again, Tech is a total boss! Being a truly good soldier just doesn't cut it in the Empire....it's terrible. Poor Wilco! Wow!!! I can't wait to see more, it sounds like I have a lot to look forward to!!! Watching the next few eps today!!! XD

2023-05-03 13:21:07 +0000 UTCHaha yeah it is always the height stuff with Wrecker, but he is a big brave boy and will reluctantly go through with these perilous situations! Love the way Tech talks about these events, and even how he speaks logically about sustaining a broken leg! :D The old man telling Tech about restoring his people's history and how they were around long before they became separatists, gives something for Tech to think about. His entire existence for being, was to be a soldier dealing with separatists. He has never thought about what life was like before all that, and in a way shows how he and the others have been tied to this thread too long. Its time for them to make their own path and live as they want. Echo of course disagrees as we pick back up with his frustration about not going back into the fight. Wrecker saves the day for him and Hunter as they are surrounded, when he literally becomes a walking tank of his own. Shame he could only wield that thing for a while, it would have been great to see that become his weapon of choice, as it really suits him and sums him up, to do as much damage as possible! Tech is also a boss taking out those clones with his broken leg. Wilco getting gunned down by Admiral Rampart at the end, because he WON'T follow this order to cover up for him. He was a good soldier, yet thats not enough for the more nefarious officers higher up in the Empire. As you stated in your preamble to the first episode Mel, this season contains some great stuff. Its a bit up and down for me personally, but man, when its good, its VERY GOOD - starting with episode 3 for your next reaction! :)

2023-05-01 22:54:42 +0000 UTCHahaha yeah nothing phases Tech! OHHHHH I never ever put that together about Wilco, holy crap hahaha!!! That's amazing! What a great wordplay snuck right in under our noses :P Clearly Yang was a writer on this script! Right, I think there were some good lessons to learn from Romar for both Omega and the rest of our Batch. Right, Omega only heard a bit of that out of context, sadly. Tech was seriously a boss in this! Ouch, I hope they can get his leg fixed!! Wilco was on his game for sure, and clearly had much more honor than his counterparts in the Empire. That's the thing, the Empire and the individuals who are trying to rise in the ranks in it do so many things to shoot themselves in the foot lol. There's a good chance they just won't pursue our crew for fear of Tarkin finding out, who knows!

2023-04-28 13:16:37 +0000 UTCI know, poor Omega! I wasn't clear on it either until this ep, but yeah, I don't think that's where he was actually going with it. I love this sweet moment too!!!

2023-04-28 13:13:27 +0000 UTCOh she took it the wrong way. I guess I misread her reaction to it but I still think the way it was said by Echo in the previous episode was clear he meant good by it. Such a sweet moment here though. ♥️

2023-04-28 10:49:47 +0000 UTCWe’re falling to our doom, and Tech’s response is “that’s concerning?” Dude seems to be rather chill all the time. 😂 Something clicked in my brain watching this episode, the Imperial clone leader’s name was Captain Wilco… much like the battle droids, always said Roger, Roger. So… Roger, Wilco? You’ve heard that phrase, right? It can’t be a coincidence. I think when Romar gave Omega the toy and she was disappointed it wasn’t a valuable item, his advice to her was: financial prosperity cannot find you true happiness. You need to value the things you already have over the things you lack. Omega misinterpreted Echo’s comment about her as it was her fault they were put in this position, but he meant it as a good thing. Everything happens for a reason. Tech was kind of a low key boss in this one as he was still communicating, fixing equipment, and covering everyone else while working on a broken leg. Speaking of, maybe… we should get that fixed? Wilco was one of the more competent troopers because he was covering everything the heroes could think of… and then he got killed because the admiral wanted to cover up his mistake. No honor among Imperials either, I guess, but that also might’ve been their best chance to capture our free. The Enpire’s shortsightedness strikes again - now I wonder if he’ll try to get rid of the evidence while sweeping it under the rug, or just not get involved? I’m sure it’ll come to a head at some point.
