There is something so visceral about that transformation scene that even after all these years, and knowing what's happening, and seeing a couple of Making Ofs......I still do full body twitches, espically when the spine "pops" out.

There aren't that many movies let alone sci-fi and horror that hold up so well. I remember when I was a kid, this movie came out and it was the cutting edge and so highly talked about because of how realistic the effects were. I say they hold up to anything the MCU or Star Wars or any CGI biggie has produced.

A bit of a bitter sweet movie at this point for me, because in the pub my attention is always caught by Rik Mayall (rip) playing one of the patrons. He was one of my favorite comedians. The movie is awesome. Such a classic…and the special effects were truly groundbreaking.

Rick Baker is a God with practical effects. Johnathan Landis approached Rick and asked can these effects be done because I want it all done on camera and in a lighted set. Rick said some students and I have been working with new mechanics that can alter body parts so yes this can be done. Had this transformation not worked well Landis said this movie would not have been possible.

Avengers, and the Captain America: the Winter Soldier. very small part in avengers, basically just seen on TV as Nick fury talks with the world security council. and.... remember the woman from the security council that black widow impersonates and kicks ass? yup, her again! come to think of it, that actress was also in a cheesy late '70s sci-fi movie called Logan's Run. heavily modified from a book, and there was a short TV series even, but I don't think the cast her in the series.

Woah wait really!? What marvel movies was she in?

Please note nurse/girlfriend Alex, played by Jenny Agutter - you've seen her in a marvel movie or two! no matter what I see her in though, I always think of this movie!

My favorite Werewolf film. The effects were a revelation at the time. What you heard about Thriller is true. Micheal Jackson reputedly saw this and said I want those guys. The director John Landis is the guy wearing a head band who gets hit by a car and goes through a window.

lol weow thats wild

THEY WERE SO FREAKING GOOD!!!! I can see why he hired him he slayed it in this movie

when the actor playing Jack first saw himself with his makeup, it upset him because he was seeing himself as a dead person, apparently it really disturbed him. And the porn theater became a virgin megastore in the 90s

Rick baker who did the practical effects was given the first ever Oscar for practical effects for this movie. Michael Jackson loved the film so much he hired both Rick and the Director John Landis to make Thriller.
