No Oh My God!!! This movie was OFF THE CHAIN psychotic. Ok, I have to interject, from 14 years in law enforcement and 36 years in the martial arts...self defense is 99% mental and 1% physical. You made very good points about the preventative measures to protecting yourself. They are common sense, each and every one. I wish people would follow them. Also remember, elbows and knees are your most effecktive tools. Short throw battering rams that do exquisite damage. As to the part with her 1st walking down the hall (asked for a shower), walking next to him, pick a time and drive an elbow up into his chin, quick and sharp (I've caught an elbow in the chin...it turned my knees to jello immediately). When he goes down, drop a knee into the lower rib cage (your going for the floor, his ribs are just in the way). Make sure you hear them crack. Then, if possible, reposition and drop another knee in his face. He will NOT get up. Just some tips from discussions with other instructors. She did a good job, however of getting his guard down and then taking advantage of his complacency...Yes, that's painful for a guy to even contemplate...lol. Also, getting shot in the head ends the problem permanently. Lauren, this was a truly twisted movie. There are some royally messed up people that are allowed to walk among us...that we don't even know about. Evil is real. I for one hold a special hatred for people who abuse children and women. I saw far to much of it as a Police Officer and was not allowed to deal with it the way it SHOULD have been dealt with (That whole law thing.) Jeez, I need to go hit the heavy bag now. Thank you for sharing your very visceral and honest reaction to this. I know this was a disturbing movie. With that, Peace and love Lauren. I'm out. <3
