Spy x Family 1x18 "Uncle the Private Tutor / Daybreak" - reaction & review
Added 2022-11-11 12:38:36 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here I am with episode 18 of Spy x Family, yayyyyy!!! We finally get some interaction between Yuri and Anya!!! I had a feeling it wouldn't be smooth sailing at first, considering how, erm, attached he is to Yor....but with some time and effort, I think maybe they might get along!! I like how everything just comes down to how Yuri can just get Yor all to himself hahaha. I do think this inspired Anya to have her own motivations though, which is great! And hey, she didn't even need her test edited, wow! She's making progress, sweet girl!!! Also we met Daybreak and....just what the heck!!!!!!! Lol! Can't wait for more! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Yes!! I agree!!! Hahaha one of a kind alright! Hmm, it does seem a bit more of a one-off ep, maybe we'll take a breather before getting right back to the main mission like you said?! LOL!!! Bond's "dying" was too close to home for me this time!!!!!!!!! XD

2022-11-15 12:22:08 +0000 UTCThe relationship between Anya and Yor became even sweeter, Yuri might feel a bit conflicted for a while, Daybreak is...one of a kind and Becky is so supportive <3 A nice episode but not so driven with the plot as a whole, I wonder if our grand mission will be on hiatus for more episodes or not, who knows? Good reaction (especially when Bond "died") ;)

Little WereAnya :D True, even Yor's got an agenda here. Hahaha yeah ummmmm.....I'd say we might have entered GoT territory :P (It's a fairly common trope in anime, actually, this isn't the first time I've seen it!!) Omg poor Loid, as if his job wasn't hard enough! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA omg, omg, he is TOTALLY the spy version of Jar Jar!!!!!!!!! Oh, I'm dying laughing now!! Yeah, very possible that Anya will get what she hopes for...!! No, I'm pretty sure no alterations were made, which is really impressive and shows progress!!! Even if they weren't, you know, the best! Yeah, technically Anya has a slight disadvantage here, but we'll see how it all unfolds...! Oh nice, thanks for the update on the episode total! And WOW!!!! Thanks for the update on Slime!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

(Also Chibi Neo just popped up in my head with a sign that says “and light on adjectives.” 😂) Anya’s scheme is to cheat on the test until she realizes she can’t do it… by the way what’s the story with that? Is our little cinnamon roll part werewolf? Yor’s scheme isn’t as front and center this episode but everything she does is to maintain her “cover,” including using Yuri as a tutor. Yuri’s scheme is to weasel his way between Yor and everyone else. By the way… is anyone else feeling a bit… concerned… about the level of devotion he has? I know you’re supposed to be dedicated to family but… this might be overstepping about. I’m getting some serious concerns… like GoT level concerns… Loid’s scheme is to keep the mission from falling apart without letting anyone else know what he’s doing… boy, the things he has to put up with…! Speaking of things he has to put up with, Daybreak seems like one of those comic relief characters… I was about to say he’s kind of Bizarre but it just hit me… he’s the spy version of Jar Jar… because he’s humbling his way into making it work somehow…😂 😂 😂 If only he knew who was actually covering his tracks… It does seem like Yuri and Anya have been especially affected by the mission at the start of this cour in different ways. Yuri has no idea how close he is to what he wants, and I have to wonder if Anya’s desperation for a “showdown” is going to manifest at some point. For now, though, it seems she did well enough on her own to avoid disaster and even Damian was taken aback by how happy she was with such a “lousy” score. I wonder if any alterations were made? It doesn’t seem to be the case. The Stella count is currently 1 apiece between Anya and Damian. But Anya has a bolt so she’s on the back foot. You just know this isn’t over. Speaking of that, I was curious so I took a look: there are going to be 25 episodes total this season. So we’re closing in, but there’s still another seven to go! PS: Quick Non-related news topic: Crunchyroll’s made an official announcement today that Slime Season 3 is greenlit for production.

Anya did her best and even if it's not the top of the top, she showed that she has made progress and that she will continue to do so. Too bad Loid doesn't know that Yuri is all in on Yor, otherwise it would be perfect leverage to manipulate him. About Daybreak, he is voiced by Yuichi Nakamura, the voice of Gojo and Hawks. Just in case you were wondering where you heard that voice.
