Jujutsu Kaisen 1x17 "Kyoto Sister School Exchange Event - Group Battle 3 -" reaction & review

Hey everyone!!!  Here it is - my reaction to Jujutsu Kaisen episode 17!!  WOW guys, I had no idea what Maki and Mai had gone through in their past!  Gotta say, the way the clan operates kinda sucks for them!!!  But I get why they would have, on the surface, been more inclined to take it out on each other.  Poor Mai just wanted her sister, and poor Maki just wanted to make her own destiny and push past the limits that were unfairly placed on her!!!
You can't blame either of them for how they felt.  And then poor Mai being forced into fighting as a result...!!!!  I really hope they can reconcile one day!!!!  What a great ep - enjoy!!!  ~ MH

True!!! I see what you mean, there's definitely some truth in both their ideals. There's lots of unfair expectations on women for sure, but Nobara has a great idea in just being herself, whether it's being strong or doing "girlier" things, and just not giving a hoot what anyone thinks about it haha. Awww poor Miwa lol!!! BTW, I totally tried the ramen thing and it was AWESOME :D

That's a great point!!! I think that's what Nobara was getting across as well. Maki's amazing! And Nobara's line was awesome as well. They are excellent girls for sure!!!

In a clan it’s just the way it is. And that does suck. I have to say I wish more women would think outside of the usual like Nobara. The “ I like shopping and being pretty, that’s just me. Being a woman has little impact on what I like and what I have to do”. Yet I also see the grain of truth in what Momo had to say. It’s like women do have to be both in order to be perfect. The following fight follows the pay off of going outside the limitations of others. Great episode. And why do they have to give Miwa such hard time? She just wants her Edamame xD 🍲

Mai's side of the story us pretty sad indeed, but it still doesn't give her the reao estate to be 8 different kinds of bitch to people. And this episode sold me for Maki hard. She's just a strong girl trying to fight her way up and being a hit badass while doing it. And Kugisaki giving that whole bit about "keep those shitty standards to yourselves. The only expectations I have to live up to are my own. I love myself and I define myself." Made me appreciate her a whole lot more than I had previously. Kugisaki and Maki are my two best girls for this show.
