RWBY 8x05 "Amity" & 8x06 "Midnight" - reaction & review

Hey everyone!!! Here it is - my reaction to vol 8 episodes 5 and 6 of RWBY!!! OHHHHHH you guys I KNOW, I just KNOW we are not going through this again!!!!!!! Absolutely not!!!!!!! I am so, so proud of my girl Penny and I totally get where Pietro is coming from being so concerned for her....but she has grown into an amazing, independent person and as much as I respect the heck out of her for making a decision like this, I KNOW WE ARE NOT DOING THIS AGAIN GUYS!!!!! Friggin Watts!!!!!! Who knew that working with him would end badly??? ***EYE ROLL*** And in our next ep, we get a legitimately heartbreaking look at Cinder's past. I mean, you guys know I'm not her biggest fan, but DANG, I mean I kinda wanted to kill that mom and the twins lol, so I can't say I blame her!!! But the poor huntsman who was trying to help her though..... :( Also, Oscar/Ozpin are trying to do their best from the inside, which is a great idea, and I hope it works!!! Last but not least....yikes, Salem makes her next move and Atlas is in big trouble!!!! :O Wow guys, I just can't believe the drama they're throwing at us this volume!!! Everyone better be SAFE!!!!! Great eps! Enjoy!! ~ MH

It really is! And also such a good point about Rhodes. Treating the situation differently could have meant such a world of difference for Cinder!!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts :)

2021-09-26 17:15:02 +0000 UTCCinder's backstory is such a tragedy. Also gives us one more viewpoint in the Lawful vs Good conflict that's driven the Atlas arc. Rhodes did want to help Cinder, but he was only gonna do it within the bounds of the law. He wasn't gonna actually get her out of her situation, just train her and in doing so leave her in that hell for 7 more years, giving a light at the end of the tunnel to keep her there. And then, when her world crashes down around her and she finally snaps against her abusers, he immediately switches to "Must apprehend the criminal" mode rather than try to deescalate the traumatized girl that looks up to him. If Rhodes had been willing to take an extra risk so much death and heartbreak could have been avoided.
