Jujutsu Kaisen 1x06 "After Rain" reaction & review

Hey everyone!!!  Here it is - my reaction to Jujutsu Kaisen episode 6!!!  Oh man, what did I tell you guys?!?!  XD  So yeah, he was dead all right, but the whole staying dead thing was a totally different matter.  And this pact...so now Sukuna can come out whenever he wants, and Yuji has no idea?!  I feel like Gojo already suspects something about the matter.  Oh yeah, and let's not forget, our other crew still has training for the big upcoming event.  And while they train, Yuji too is training - on WATCHING MOVIES!!!  Best plotline EVER!!!!  Great ep - enjoy!!!  ~ MH

Yeah I really like their rapport! They explain it so well and omg I know, since they make us wait a bit for the more detailed explanation, it's like we can't wait to know more!!!!!

I really like how Gojo and Itadori got along well right off the bat. I liked this episode a lot. It's like finally "I understand at least the basics of Jujutsu". When I watched I was dying to know how it works. It's well done how it's explained.

Ohhhhh that's interesting!!! So it's kind of like an empty vessel?? Hahaha thank you, I'm sure I would have gotten very worried at some point about the bear's well being actually!!! :P I think it helped that I saw the principal felting them before, so I knew they were more like stuffed animals! Thanks for the info!!!

That's so true! OMG, I know!!!! That tone shift happened in an instant!!! It is done really well though!!!

Oh man!!!! What an epic twist haha. It is rare, but not impossible I suppose!!!

Melissa Moore

Ohhhhh okay haha! And glad I'm not the only one lol!

Also, I thought I should mention that when they translate the term "Cursed Corpse" what they really mean is "Lifeless Body" which could be a corpse or a dummy or a mannequin. But "Cursed Lifeless Body" is cumbersome and "Cursed Doll" doesn't fit the aesthetic and isn't entirely accurate. The concept in Japanese legends can actually refer to magic dolls or reanimated Zombies. They'll explain stuff more as the show goes on, but for now I just didn't want you to think that this was a dead bear with boxing gloves or anything!

It can be very hard to balance comedy with serious stuff. I think one of the reasons the Marvel movies are so successful is because they have mastered that balance, and a lot of anime are good at it too. Jujutsu Kaisen is a master of it. That scene with the guy who quits his job because he senses the curses is funny, and then is followed up by pure horror. He was the only survivor because he trusted his instincts. That switch from funny to dead serious would cause whiplash in some shows, but I thought it was done really well.

There is an anime - I won't spoil it's name but it is a political thriller from two years ago or so that is excellent but definitely slow-paced and has a LOOOOOT of talking - where they killed off the 'main character' early on. Basically, the main character gets murdered for investigating this case, and his boring by-the-book sidekick who doesn't believe in conspiracies is shocked and enraged by this, and becomes the main character to avenge his death. I did NOT see it coming! But it is pretty rare to do.

This literally doesnt matter at all but i think in that Juju scroll Gojo was trying to make Yuji lose concentration on his cursed energy. And youre definitely not the only one who gets a Kakashi vibe from Gojo. Lol
