Attack on Titan 4x15 "Sole Salvation" reaction & review

Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of episode 15 of the final season of AoT!  Wow.....just....wow.  I really feel for Zeke after seeing all he went through, and even though I'm just now getting to know him, I'm so interested in Ksaver as well!  I think we can all agree that Grisha was not father of the year.  :(  But just how do you bring about change without sacrificing some of the most important things, like even your own family?  Well, Zeke and Eren have an interesting answer to that question.  I have to say, after last episode, I was mad.  After this episode I'm just....stunned.  They can't really do this, right?!  This isn't the answer, right?!?!  Yet, I don't hear anyone else coming up with any good options, either.
:(  Guess we'll see!!!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Ah yes!! I caught that in editing lol. Thank you for clearing it up!

Btw when Zeke told Ksaver he'd remember him even after he became a titan he wasn't talking about becoming a warrior, he was talking about him and his parents being sent off to Paradis and being turned into mindless titans after they get caught. That's why Ksaver reacts by telling him to report his parents since it was the only way to potentially save him and his parents.

Thanks! It really is like genocide if they're making an entire people go extinct. I think you might be right that Eren has something else up his sleeve. Seeing how much he cared for the people around him, it really doesn't add up....and so true, he would be right back to "killing Titans" if this were the case as well!!! Guess we'll find out!!!

Aww yay! Thanks so much! It was rough to watch right?! But also cool that it's the first time we get to see Armin throw a punch, hadn't thought of that! I couldn't agree more that it was so hurtful no matter what Eren's real goal is...!! Oh dang, I can definitely see the hero shot thing for Zeke haha. It truly does make you feel for Zeke and empathize with what he wants out of all this....even if it is super dark. So true that it's directly tied to his feelings for his "found" father, as well as the shared trauma of being Eldian in this "cruel world". I'm so happy you enjoy my rants haha!!! Hope you love my next reaction!!!

You're the only other person ive seen call the plan what it really is. Genocide, it might not be straight up killing everyone but they will be causing the extinction of eldians and in my opinion the 2 of them dont have the right to decide the fate of the entire eldian race. I still wanna believe eren is still somehow not completely on board with zekes plan. And he just plans to use him because it just doesnt make sense for eren character imo. He goes from wanting to kill titans in season 1, to realizing titans are his fellow eldians in season 3 and he clearly wants to free the eldians, but now hes just back to square 1 with killing all the titans. Something just doesnt add up for me. Lol

Really really enjoyed watching these episodes with you! The fight between Armin and Eren was hard to watch, just seeing someone physically less capable defend someone and beaten up for it. I really appreciated that display of character in that scene, our first time seeing Armin throwing a punch which means it's probably a really big deal! As for Eren, even if what he is doing is the right thing in his eyes, that was definitely verbal abuse towards his friends! And the Zeke episode I thought was really great and interesting too. Some shots really make him look like a hero lol (screenshotted a few moments here: https://imgur.com/a/KawraZG), like a young man going on a hero's journey. And Mr. Ksaver's peaceful smile as he's about to get eaten I found really powerful, it's unlike any of the other similar scenes where it's usually against their will. It's enough to make you really understand their relationship and Zeke's mission. 🙂 Which is so closely linked to the happiness he had with his father figure, and his taking on their shared emotional traumas coming from being born Eldian. 😢 Can't wait to see the next episode, I really enjoy listening to how you feel lol!

Ah okay! I was wondering about that. That's still pretty awful though! That's an excellent comparison to the X-Men story. Yes, let's hope that there's another better option on what could be done here....some new info about Ymir would be great!!! Awww everything should be the world according to Armin <3333 Best Boy!!!!!

I think that euthanization may have been a bad translation, & perhaps they meant sterilization plan. The current living Eldians would be allowed to live out the rest of their lives; it's still dark though. I wouldn't my ethnic group to be sterilized out of existence. However, Eldians are not a direct parallel to any group in our world. This reminds me of the core issue in X-Men. Mutants want the same rights & freedoms as everyone else, but they do have an outsized power to kill everyone else just like titans. I really can't think of a solution that would save more lives than Zeke's, plan, but it's still gross. I'm hoping that they can somehow learn new information about Ymir, to give them more options, but I'm dreaming of course. Why can't the world be Armin's, ideal of hope:)

I agree with you, about Grisha, but at the same time; I'm not living in an internment camp with the label of being subhuman with the constant threat of capricious extermination. Even if our judgement of Grisha, is correct; it's easy to judge from a place of privilege. After all, a Marleyian, could just as easily take his son away & feed him to dogs like Fay. It's like to Grisha; Zeke, is not his own person, & neither is Grisha, himself until they are free. It mostly makes me sad that they had to live under that pressure; it's like this whole show is about child abuse.

Change definitely calls for sacrifice, but you should never force your child to bear that cost. They don’t have the choice of whether or not they want to pay that toll. I don’t think there’s ever a good reason to force your own kid to basically lose their entire childhood, and then cut their life down to 13 years. You basically just make them into your own tool, and never seen them as their own human being, afforded to make choices of their own. So to me, Grisha isn’t even on the gray scale of morality. That’s my view on it, though.
