The Promised Neverland 2x06 "Episode 6" reaction & review
Added 2021-02-20 14:10:10 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here's my reaction to episode 6. Oh man!!! I knew we couldn't just have a happy reunion without throwing some more drama into the mix! We learn why Norman wasn't shipped and meet some new...ermm...friends I guess lol. Norman's plan is efficient and well thought out - I'd expect nothing less!! - but it is, well, pretty much genocide....?!?!
Then again, so is taking humanity away from the demon world completely. I was so glad when Emma and Ray decided to bring up Sonju and Mujika to Norman and really have a long chat about this....until that last line of the ep from Norman...!!!!! WHAT?! Also, why do I get the feeling that maybe Norman really was tortured, and he just doesn't wanna tell Emma? Can't wait to see more! Enjoy! ~ MH

Yes I'm also terrified about what Norman is like now, and the character design for the crew was really fun as well! Excellent point that Norman is clearly hiding things and also really must have meant to kill Mujika at some point, that kinda went over my head until editing. Ohhhhh good theory about Mujika's blood!!!! That makes sense!!!! Thanks for all the info and for sharing your thoughts! And for your continued support/encouragement!!! ^_^

Seeing the sadness and relief is heartbreaking but cathartic and what really hit me was Ray’s reaction because his emotions are often more subtle. The hug is so perfect. Also the next time you watch the opening try to pay extra attention because there are other changes besides the one you noticed and then in my next comment I will tell all of them to you. The explanation of what happened to Norman is horrifying with the Lambda facility with brands and the experimentation. Also I definitely agree with you that Norman might have been experimented on and is hiding it for Emma and Ray’s sake and I am scared to see how that might have changed them even if what he’s saying is true just witnessing it must have been terrible. Also the plan is ingenious but horrifying because it’s like you said genocide. The idea of why demons eat humans is insane I really was surprised but I think it’s interesting. I do love that for the kids from Gracefield it’s not about revenge but about being safe and happy and easing Emma’s burden. I love the details of slow discomfort and unease when learning about the plan and Ray constantly having his eye on her. I love the conversation up in the watchtower because it just further emphasizes the really good person that Emma is and how even if Ray doesn’t believe in peace he will still always support Emma and that he had logical reasons as well. I really love the designs of Norman’s allies even if they are obsessed with vengeance but totally makes sense like you said. The really interesting but disturbing thing about the designs is Vincent described as smart has scars around his head probably had his brain altered in some way the other boy’s muscles look unnaturally formed and even if she doesn’t look like it Barbara is extremely strong shown by her almost breaking a solid wood table. It is a very disturbing and as Emma said wrong ideology no matter how much sense it makes. Also I wonder what experiment Norman was talking about when he shows up. I'm very worried about how much Norman may have changed especially with him seeming to be willing to hide things from his friends like demons that don’t eat humans. Interesting wording with evil blooded girl considering the temple they were hiding in was also called that with a statue of what I think is a deity in the demons religions. Also there is a very deliberate shot in the opening of Mujika bleeding so I think something in her blood allows demons to maintain intelligence without eating humans probably by drinking her blood. I’m very worried about Norman saying she still is alive implying to me at least that he meant to kill her and thought he succeeded and I wonder why he’s so freaked out. I’m scared about the divisions that seem to be forming. Also I’m with you about somehow making all demons like Mujika possibly synthesizing a drug based on her blood but maybe there’s something dangerous about her being like this. This was a great reaction and I can't wait for your next one and I’m very interested in the next episode and scared. Keep up the great work. :-) <3
