Hunter x Hunter 1x06 "A × Surprising × Challenge" reaction & review
Added 2021-02-11 14:10:20 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here's my reaction to episode 6! Oh man, a new phase of the exam and it turns out to be a COOKING CHALLENGE!!! However, it really turns out to be a cooking fail....in fact, everyone fails....?!?! Unless you wanna count Gon easily being able to defeat the boars as a win! I loved the lesson learned from the re-do exam - that you have to take a risk sometimes to get any reward!!! I can see now that the Hunter Exam really is meant to help future hunters be well-rounded, it's not just a series of impossible and/or silly tasks!!!

Ohhh that's a good point actually! That would definitely explain why it all seemed more bird-ish than spider-ish! :P

2021-04-30 14:00:44 +0000 UTCAlot of people tend to miss this. But she doesn't say they are spiders. But Spider Eagles. The key word is Eagle. From this you can decern that Spider Eagles are eagles that just have a certain trait like spiders. The webbing they produce to protect their eggs. I believe other than this fun feature they are like normal eagles. So the eggs do come from a bird creature. XD Also spider eggs don't look like the eggs they grabbed. And upon seeing it cooked you can tell it's more of a bird egg.

So the concept of a Hunter carries with it only the implications that one has certain traits of strength, cunning, etc. But not necessarily moral or other implications. 2021-02-13 15:49:59 +0000 UTCTo kind of follow up on Manny's comment - becoming a hunter is essentially recognition that you are extraordinarily talented, determined, dedicated, or some combination of the three. As Kurapika mentions back in episode 1, becoming a hunter comes with many perks. I won't go into any detail about what they are because the show will cover it anyway later on, but essentially, if you have a passion or goal, becoming a hunter is sure to give you access to far more resources and information to pursue whatever your goal or passion is. It also kind of reflects back on what Tonpa (rookie-crusher) says earlier in the series, when he says something along the lines of "even the devil himself could pass the exam". Becoming a hunter has very little to do with morality. Hunters are not necessarily good or evil, or even on the same side. They each have their own completely separate goals and motivations. Overall, this is not one of my favourite episodes in the series (it may be my least favourite honestly), but I think it does a good job to further clarify what a hunter is. That said, it's still a fun one, and also gives us Chairman Netero's debut in the series. Thank you for the reaction! Great as always, and excited for the many episodes to come :)

2021-02-12 15:02:59 +0000 UTCRespect. A good life lesson in general. I love this episode. The intro over and over again will explain what hunters do and what they are. I still had a lot of questions though because I heard bounty, black list and gourmet. After this ep all my "what's" were answered with the "why?" Why do people become hunters? What ever field you're in needs some type of dedication and determination.
