RWBY 5x01 "Welcome to Haven" & 5x02 "Dread in the Air" reaction & review
Added 2021-02-03 13:40:50 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here's my reaction/review of episodes 1 and 2 of V5 of RWBY! Oh dang, here we go with Vol. 5 you guys!!! We finally get to Haven only to have the good professor make an awful lot of excuses about why they can't get started on a new mission right away....! Still can't quite tell if this is something the professor chose or he is truly being held under duress, but either way this is bad! My best girl Yang is kicking butt and taking names on a search for her mom, and speaking of which....we catch up with Weiss and see arguably one of the coolest battles ever with THE CREEPIEST GRIMM ON THIS SHOW EVER, NO EXCEPTIONS, and guess where she happens to crash land?! Right where Raven can find her....!!! :O Oh yeah, let's not forgot that whole crazy scene where Adam kills the leader of the White Fang and takes over. Shoot, we are hitting the ground running folks!!! Cannot wait to see more! Enjoy! ~ MH

That is one crazy combination when it comes to the Seer Grimm lol. Definitely see the jellyfish and crystal ball inspiration there. So the Seer really is like her own crystal ball. 2021-04-18 12:03:02 +0000 UTCNice to see Volume 5, just in case you don't know Arthur Watts is from Atlas like Weiss and he's one of the smartest scientist in Atlas as well. I don't know if you considered this a spoiler, but he's the one who created the virus that hacked the Vytal Festival so that Cinder, Mercury and Emerald could rigged the tournament, along with hacking all the Atlesian Knights (Ironwoods android soldiers) and the Paladin mechs which was Torchwick who the one hacked the virus. Also the Seer Grimm is like a mix between a Jellyfish, a Grimm and a Crystal Ball. Salem has the power to control Grimm and since the Seer is a Grimm, it's a no brainer that she could control the Seer.

I think the casual existence of naturally forming gravity dust creating floating islands is so interesting and cool. Also I agree the wasp Grimm are creepy but they don’t bother me that much but it makes sense that it would be worse for people who are scared of bugs like you. I think the way they destroy things/kill is the worst way to go. The fight is absolutely incredible from the way she uses her abilities, the flying combat and seeing the full Knight in battle for the 1st time. Having Weiss’s best song as well just enhances the experience. Also something that’s not that important to know is whenever Weiss uses a black glyph it’s gravity dust and I love that she uses it to slow down the crash. Something interesting is that a lot of people because of the interactions liked the pilot and was affectionately nicknamed by fans as Pilot Boi. To make it clear he is dead and fun fact was supposed to be the 1st gay character but Rooster Teeth decided against it because it’s problematic for a gay character to be introduced and then immediately die. Now onto Sienna Khan and Adam. Her design is 1 of the best in RWBY and at least to RT was unexpectedly popular. Her ideology while not the best is interesting when compared to Adam’s twisted beliefs of subjugating humans as revenge. Also this scene makes Hazel more interesting with his fearlessness and aversion to violence/death. It's a cool contradiction considering he works for Salem who at least from the fall of Beacon causes a lot of death and destruction. They make Adam so intimidated and menacing and it’s really effective. Her death is brutal and also since she’s dead I can tell you her inspiration is Shere Khan the Tiger from the jungle book. This was an amazing reaction. Keep up the great work. :-) <3

2021-02-18 07:31:01 +0000 UTCI love the premier episode a lot. 1st I know some people don’t really like it but I love the cool 2D images used to introduce Mistral. Fun fact there are 2 men shown buying a heart-shaped plant that were confirmed to be LGBT. It sucks that at 1st Weiss still doesn’t have a lot of control of her life in the volume. The conversation between Blake and Ilia is so good but sad for both characters. The information about the relics and spring maiden is really interesting. I feel like the conflict during the conversation with Leo is really well done. The final scene is probably 1 of my personal funniest RWBY scenes. I love Yang’s new design mostly because to me it has a very old school cowboy/Western design particularly the jacket. Also the gas station being named “Just Rite” and the response Yang gives to the bandit’s unwanted advances are references to Yang’s inspiration Goldilocks. Even though it’s cartoony I think the way Yang deals with the bandit is awesome and hilarious. I think it’s realistic the way the show deals with Yang’s PTSD. Also the bandit funnily enough is literally named Shay D. Mann as a pun. Finally I love the opening and there’s not much to say but I love the 4 main girls turning into flower petals and showing comparisons between characters and how it shows off the characters.

2021-02-10 13:48:45 +0000 UTCLove your reactions....started out on YouTube and decided I wanted to binge your RWBY Vol.4 reactions here on Patreon which did not disappoint; it is one of my favorite volumes and I appreciate your willingness to be emotional on camera the way that you do, especially your reaction for the final scene of V.4 Ch.2 which was everything I hoped it would be. Fun fact, RWBY has officially released Japanese Dubs of Vol.1-4 from Warner Brothers Japan, though unfortunately WB Japan doesn't seem interested in Dubbing beyond that. I own the Limited Editions of the Japanese Dub, imported directly from Japan. Anyway, I heard that the Japanese voice actors cried after recording Vol.4 Ch.2 as well. Look forward to the rest of your reaction to Vol.5; You may remember that Blake's Dad Ghira uncovered the plot of Adam planning to assassinate Sienna Khan in the final chapters of Vol.4...and it just happened here in these episodes....which means Blake's timeline is a little behind everyone else's for much of this volume. They never explicitly say so in the show but I think it helps make things less confusing if you know that in advance. Sienna Khan is voiced by veteran anime voice actress Monica Rial....while I was happy to see she'd joined the cast of RWBY it was a bit of a buzz kill to see her character get killed off so quickly, too. Since Rooster Teeth is based in Austin, Texas, they have an in-state talent pool of Anime voice actors to choose from, especially those who regularly record for FUNimation in the DFW area or Sentai Filmworks in Houston. They tend to bring their fans with them and introduce yet more of us anime nerds to the world of RWBY.

Yes!!! Loved the reference to that line! Hahahahaha the scene with Qrow was everything, including "wait for it"!!!! :D Ohhhh the fight was incredible! Hazel definitely has a sort of quiet but imposing strength. So true about Adam too, this isn't about balance anymore, he just wants to do to humans what's been done to Faunus. Just a heads up theres some weird transitions with where each character is at time wise in this volume and some people tend to get confused about when certain events are happening

It's because he's a coward, they're more dangerous. I mean anyone who fears for their life more than they cares for others lives is a bomb waiting to go off and left unattended eventually they will get you killed. So right now he's a problem. He seems like a sweet guy. Think they said he was loyal, but I think maybe the fear was too big. That's my take on it. Also I'm glad its Casey Lee. I would have appreciated anyone singing cause this intros my jam rn, but I'm glad and impressed by the talent. It just wouldn't be the same RWBY without Casey-Lee 😌🎶

Didn't know you had a fear of wasps so your reaction to that was even better but it was amazing when Weiss brought out the knight. So many other good things happen in these two episodes cannot wait for next week

Her design, character type, and morals made all the fans excited to see what happened with her. Then fucking Adam stabs her to death. Also to explain why her aura wasn't up. She didn't expect Adam to kill her so it wasn't instantly activated.

2021-02-03 14:59:08 +0000 UTCHi Hime :) Here are the things I like about these two episodes Episode 1 : Weiss becoming humble and not wanting to be a burden, is just so good at seeing her evolution. You can always count on Nora for a good thought and a little humor (and with a pure badass moment towards the end, not a spoiler, just a tease ;-) ). Leonardo points to something interesting. Beacon's fall was broadcast throughout Remnant, which probably got Grimm attacks all over the world too, so it was even worse than volume 3 showed. Yang tremors are both PTSD and a way of showing that she is in control for me. The JNR team is on their toes since the last person to look for Ruby was our psycho scrorpion. Oscar's opening line to Ruby, "you have silver eyes" is a reference to Ozpin's opening line. And as I told you, the scene leading to the Oscar / Qrow meeting, namely Qrow drunk but happy, will always make me crack, especially the "wait for it". Episode 2 : Weiss's fight with "This life is mine" in the background, is just so exhilarating for me (I love Weiss and his development, I love his songs, so it's a win win). Hazel imposes a lot, he stands up to Sienna despite being alone against the white fang.Adam's speech already shows that he is lost, he seeks to reverse the scales by becoming what he hates, someone who thinks superior and wants to enslave others, he wants to do to humans what the Faunus have experienced, which will not solve anything.
