I absolutely love both of these episodes so much. Episode 3 is such a good exploration of what Yang and Blake are like after volume 3. I think the conversation between Blake and the Captain was a great way to show that now she’s very paranoid and scared and much more alone like she has in other volumes but now it’s worse because of what happened to Yang and everything else in volume 3. Also her taking the bow off and saying she doesn’t need it is a big moment in my opinion. I agree that it’s really sad seeing what Yang is going through now but it’s so well-written. We don’t get a lot of it yet but I really like the relationship between Yang and her father. Seeing the cybernetic prosthetic is great and makes a lot of sense to be from Atlas considering Ironwood is basically half machine. I also love the respect he shows for her considering she did fight hard although I’m sure Yang wouldn’t agree with that right now at least. I love the montage of Yang during mundane tasks getting used to the loss of her arm and the best part is that the music playing during that scene is a slower and quieter instrumental version of her song “I Burn”. It’s very hard to watch but seeing Yang have that flashback of Adam is great because it’s a good depiction of people with PTSD and that’s been said by people in the fandom who have gone through or are familiar with PTSD. Because while yes PTSD can be worse and more extreme that’s not always the case sometimes it’s like this with Yang. I love her father just watching and walking away because it’s so realistic to have someone who wants to help someone but doesn’t know how to help them. I love the fight against the sea serpent/Dragon which is called the Sea Feilong which translated in Chinese basically means sea flying Dragon. I think the choreography is great and I know some people say the fights are too floaty and not as good but I disagree. While yes the fights get much better and they were getting used to the new software I think this fight is great and the criticism is something I disagree with because I think it was also a stylistic choice to have the fights be even more anime than they were and the animation that mimics camera movement was just something that made it seem more different than it was. It’s just so funny and heartwarming to see Sun come back and the Blake/Sun interactions just get better. The conflicting personalities dynamic just works so well. It was a surprise back when the volume was coming out to hear Blake’s plans but it perfect sense with my idea that she blames herself and also she’s terrified of Adam. I’m so happy she has someone like Sun to at least provide some joy and cheer her up at least a little bit. I’m glad you caught the reference. And finally in the last scene 1 of the creepiest Grimm so far named in the concept art at the end the Grimm Seer which I think can be compared to other things in fiction but I can’t think of them off the top of my head. Also Salem saying some interesting things including talking about a relic. And potentially the thing she was talking to Cinder about might have something to do with the Grimm bug just an idea to think about. My thoughts on episode 4 coming soon.

Ah okay thank you! Yes you may have noticed I've been using ear buds lately, so I might have to adjust how I adjust the volume when syncing the files. Oh wow!!!!!!!! That's such a fun fact, they're actively demonstrating just how much more advances the tech is this volume! XD Ohhh I didn't realize Monty was a fan of dance, the dance scene a few volumes ago makes even more sense now. I can't wait to see how the look keeps on improving! Ah yes, so glad we have some good father figures here (can't wait to meet the one later on!) to counter balance how crummy Weiss' dad is. >.< Ohhhhh okay, I thought I was going nuts, thanks for clearing that up about the skirt joke! Hahaha they do love putting guys in skirts on this show don't they?! Not that I'm complaining! :P

Funfact about Sun's semblance, Monty said 2 clones was the most his computer could handle, 3 crashed with old software. Using 3 clones is, in a way, showing that the new software is more efficient now. The fights of this season are not yet on top, Monty was a very good choreographer (and fan of dance which explains this). The team will take a little while to find these marks, but next season will already be better. Now you also know where Yang's humor comes from, her father's. Tai remains a good fatherly image with Qrow, Oz, and another person you will discover later. Fortunately, that offsets quite a bit for Weiss' father. For the skirt joke, it's just that Qrow does one in volume 3 as well, saying he was beaten by the sight of the waitress' s ridiculous length of skirt as he walked into a bar. And then, imagine Qrow in a skirt, you may recall the image of Jaune in a dress in volume 2 ^^.

Qrow mentioned Shion village when talking with Raven. Shion was where Ruby and the others found the dying huntsman, the village that was attacked by bandits. So it's strongly implied that the tribe that Raven said that she leads now is a tribe of bandits. Also by the damage done to Shion Qrow suspects that the spring maiden is in Raven's tribe.

Some fights still looked a little floaty and slow, wait until they get used to the new software. Volumes 6, 7 and 8 are on a whole other level. Definition of menagerie: a collection of wild animals kept in captivity for exhibition. “Family” is so good… Getting to see Tai and Yang’s dynamic in detail as well as Qrow and Raven’s in the same episode is amazing. Let me tell you, you’re going to love Raven’s character. By the way, Yang Xiao Long roughly translates to sunny little dragon in Chinese, so yeah, uwu.

Good morning Hime! Im so glad you do 2 of these a week cause the next few chapters are so great and Id hate to wait a month to see all of them. The song that plays when Blake and Sun are fighting the sea grimm is one of my favorites, called Like Morning Follows Night, for obvious reasons. Also THANK YOU, youre the first reactor I've seen catch Sons journey to the east reference. It is in fact a reference to the old story Journey to the West. While team RNJR was walking down the road Jaune remarked how they were lucky to have not seen many grimm along the way which we quickly learn is because Qrow has been following at a distance and killing the grimm before they can get close prompting Qrow to sarcastically say "Luck" and scoff since luck isnt whats keeping the grimm away. I cant wait for you to see Menagerie next week!
