Hey everyone! Here's my reaction to episode 17 of Vinland Saga! I gotta hand it to Askeladd, he does a great job staying calm under pressure! And we know that's because he has a bigger-than-life mission to carry out. Not gonna lie, part of me really wants to root for him and see him see it through! I knew, though, that there was no way Thorfinn was going to let anyone else kill Askeladd! He's inveted a LOT of time in being able to do that himself haha!!! So now we get the battle of the ages - a true David and Goliath fight between Thorfinn and Thorkell?!?! I can't wait! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Lol I hear you! Hahaha oh my gosh, I think you're right! I hadn't even thought of that! I assumed it was the priest's drinking. I like your idea better!!! :P Technically, the mushrooms are a "mind altering substance"!!

2020-11-24 07:11:11 +0000 UTCThe fun thing about this episode is the tension. Everyone is just waiting for the big consequences of their choices. And while they are waiting for that people start dying. I believe his Mother in practical terms was talking about a romanticized version of Wales. She was struggling in that part of her life though and suffered from delusions that were fueled by her desperation. Hope was the only thing keeping her going. I don't think Askeladd actually believes in this prophecy to a serious degree but he wants to honor his Mother by making it a reality.
