RWBY 3x01 "Round One" & 3x02 "New Challengers..." reaction & review
Added 2020-10-15 11:22:12 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here's my reaction/review of episodes 1 and 2 of V3 of RWBY! HERE WE GO VOL 3!!!!!!!!! So right off the bat, the animation is looking even better! It's so fun to see the tournament happening - anime has taught me to be very afraid of tournaments though haha! Seeing new teams as well as the ones we know and love in action is really fun and a great way to showcase that fancy looking new animation. I was so happy for team RWBY and was really surprised/impressed by Sun and Neptune's team! We also get some little hints along the way, like things might not be going well with Weiss and her dad....and last but not least, we get major hints at the end that a few people close to our characters are coming to town! (I've already seen the next two eps now, so I know how silly it was of me not to be able to guess who the guy was lol, sorry!) Great start to the new volume, can't wait to see more! Enjoy! ~ MH

Ohhhhh I did miss that!!! Interesting! Thanks for pointing it out! I had kinda wondered if one of them at least was an orphan, and they had been raised together. This sort of gives more info on that!

2020-10-17 13:29:16 +0000 UTCOne quick thing that's easy to miss, is that Nora mentions in her rant at the food stand that her and Ren are actually orphans. "...and Ren and I have no parents, so we have no homes to go back to..." It's the first bit of backstory we get other than knowing that they've been friends for "soooo long".

Yes, I noticed the voice change, didn't get to mention it in my reaction but had heard that Monty passed away between volumes. :( YES, as a fandom we owe him so much for the amazing world he created and left behind for us to enjoy, as well as his awesome voice work as Ren. RIP Monty :'(

Whooaaaaa did not realize that Qrow was in a bar called Crowbar, that is DEFINITELY a pun worthy of my Best Girl, Yang!!!!!!!!!!!! XD

Distract with a little banter and them bring out the Nora! ๐จ I did notice a change in voice with Ren. I saw one comment mention his passing. We gotta take a moment to appreciate what he's made and done. He's amazing. I cannot thank him enough for this amazing show he's created; giving a great character life with his own voice. Im also proud of being a fan. RIP Monty! ๐

I like to throw in Neo making it Team CR*ME bc....well youโll see why I use an asterisk for her >< lol this is a great volume!! So hype for your reactions :D

That shot of the birds flying with the sun in the background after Ruby visited her mom's grave was a homage to Monty, that was pretty much his signature. Since you've already seen the next episode and know who he is then it's not a spoiler if I point out the fact that Qrow was in a bar named crowbar, that's a pun worthy of Yang.

2020-10-15 12:54:34 +0000 UTCyea sadly Monty Oum (the creator of the show and the voice of Ren) passed away a few months after vol 2 ended so now his brother Neath voices Ren now, also the shot of the birds flying into the sun was actually how Monty use to do his signature
