Hey everyone! Here's my reaction and review of Clone Wars 1x14! So if the last one got me pondering how it might be better to always keep the peace, this one showed the other side of that concept, taking it to the extreme, in my opinion. It was interesting to watch how the Jedi deal with both preserving someone's cultural beliefs, as well as eventually drawing the line to take matters into their own hands. It's tough to say who was totally right or wrong in this argument, but I think we can all agree it was nicer to have the Lurmen survive instead of die!!! It was a great episode that really got me thinking about some bigger issues! Great stuff! Enjoy! ~ MH

Oh that sounds interesting!!!! That's a good point, too - sacrificing the lives of your own to keep your ideals, just so you can say you did, could be seen as putting himself above others. Thanks for the info!!!

It gets into some of the philosophical questions you mentioned today. Concerning the pacifism in this arc though; I think the issue comes down to the village elder indulging his own ideals at the expense of everyone else. It's one thing to respect his agency in choosing to die for his beliefs, but it's another matter entirely when he attempts to validate those beliefs at the cost of another person's agency & life. Clearly some in his village wished to survive, making the the chief's behavior seem cult like. He might as well have been insisting that his tribe drink the cool-aid, as it were:)

Interesting point, we've only seen the military side....what are actual Civilian separatists like then?? Well that is one perspective on the droids!!! I think the Jedi would agree with you since no one has any problem taking them out haha. Yes, I agree about war stories, especially when they are so well done like these are! Thanks!

2020-10-01 12:37:54 +0000 UTCThe Imperium is, the republic. Or well....will be i guess. The villain in this story is named Lok Durd, what...a name. And yes he is voiced by George Takei The Sepratists seem more evil with every episode, but...we only see the military side of it, so who is part of the sparatists. And dont feel bad for the droids, they a cheap killing machines. Software defects in their programming should not count as personality :D As i said before, war stories can be very good. Especially if they cover the philosophical side.

I guess it really is him though, thanks for the info Kevin. I didn't say anything about the Imperium/Republic stuff cause I figured it might be a bit of a spoiler.
