Star Wars: The Clone Wars 1x05 "Rookies" reaction & review
Added 2020-08-31 11:44:32 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here's my reaction and review of Clone Wars 1x05! Yes, finally, a Clone-centric ep! This was a great one but also a bit sad...I feel like they've been trying to emphasize how "expendable" the Clones feel that they are, while showing us how distinct and unique each individual person is. Our poor rookies wanted some adventure, and got a bit more than they bargained for! We also got to see some new types of droids (sadly, they're not much smarter lol). I loved watching them think on the fly and figure their way out of their station being taken over (even if it was by drastic means)! Can't wait to see more of Rex and Cody and their new crew! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Nice, glad you're enjoying it! Good point about this being before Disney bought them, you can tell by the violence and humor like you pointed out haha! I agree, it's very cool that we see how each clone - albeit it a literal clone - is unique in their personality. And also very true that that's exactly what makes it much more painful when we see them die. Really looking forward to seeing more of the clones!

It's important to note that this show aired before Disney bought Star Wars (outside of the most recent season). That is why it gets so dark pretty much right away without even really building up to it. There is also a prevalence of adult humor sprinkled in. (big gun anyone?) It's cool how the clones have such distinct personalities, they all look alike down to their genes so that is what makes them unique. It was their humanity and sense of sacrifice which ultimately led to victory. The fact they are so clearly human makes the losses hurt that much more.

2020-08-31 23:19:43 +0000 UTCWell the question if Greivous is a Droid or not, will be explained so just wait and let the surprise come to you :D I always liked that they didnt shy away from killing the Clone, even if its a show for a young audience. Cody is Obi Wans Clone Commander , and Captain Rex is part of 501st, which is lead by Anakin. Fives and Echo, the two new Clones have joined with the 501st, so we will see more of them. But as this Episode showed, because you have a Name, dosnt mean you stick around till the end. Poor Heavy and the rest of the squad
