Vinland Saga 1x03 "Troll" reaction & review

I'm just loving Thors more and more each episode, even though I feel like that's part of building up to the inevitable end for him...! Really hope I'm wrong! I got such a kick out of the super tough warrior boys getting REAL done with rowing the boat after a short period of time lol. Of course Thors would arrange for them to be dropped off safely - but he wasn't counting on Thorfinn stowing away!!! Yikes!!! How did I not see that coming?! We end with our crew being surrounded, although so far it looks like Thors won't go down without a fight. Can't wait to see what happens next - so invested in this show even after just 3 eps!!! Ah yes, there are a few shows that just didn't make it to YouTube during this period of time last year....I was having lots of copyright issues and decided to hold off. >.< Eventually I want to get them edited and put on YouTube though!!! I imagine rowing leaves a not-so-fun impression when it comes to the hand pain lol, I don't think I would care for it either! But it is cool to know that everyone working together can produce such a big result that way. That's awesome!

2020-08-17 21:19:57 +0000 UTCi have noticed that the guy that got hired, is in the OP, on the same ship as thorfinn, when he is older. Bjorn, the guy who ate the mushroom, might want to go berserk. There are stories of Celts and also Norse, that after drinking a potion made by druids, or eating things, they could go into rage and ignore pain. Asterix and Obelix is a kid friendly version of those stories. We see that Leif is a very expierenced Sailor, knowing where to go, only from the shifts of the wind. I also did some sailing and rowing some years ago, on a ship thats a bit smaller than Leif's. So they complaining about their Hands is something i remeber not that fondly :D But it was fun, and knowing something that big and heavy can be moved only by the combined strenght and rythm of the crew, its a very good feeling.

That makes sense that they'd see it more from a utility perspective than a gender-based perspective (for the most part). I need to look into Shield Maidens!!!!! The name alone sounds like another anime that I could totally get into haha! Lol glad you liked my Sean Bean reference....he does have a specific skill set, for sure!!! :P

In fact, if you were to attack a Norse village you would definitely be dealing with Women as much as men. It was an issue of utility, if you could fight, why not? If you could farm, why not? People did what they could to pitch in because life could be hard. On average though Men would have gone off to fight more because Men do manly things! (sarcasm) If you look into Shield Maidens they were a big part of the folklore and tie directly into the belief in the Valkyries. Also, big bonus points for the Sean Bean reference. He really does have a special skill as an actor doesn't he? lol
