Delta Electronics: Taiwan's Power Supply Giant

Comments

Wow that is a tenacious company history. The early coil you show is a "yoke" which was used to cause the electron beam to scan while also focusing the beam. The factory pictures did not indicate Delta was working on those, they were physically large (about 20cm or more, depending on the CRT size) and hugged the TV tube stem and flare. The coils were more likely small wound on ferrite rods or rings (threaded repeatedly through the center) or wrapped around paper or plastic bobbins which could be slid onto transformers or inductor rods. The transformers were made of mild (soft, fine grained, not holding magnetic field) steel or mu-metal to minimize magnetic losses, never iron.
