Chernobyl 1x02 "Please Remain Calm" reaction & review

Hey everyone!!!  Here's my reaction and review of episode 2 of Chernobyl!  Although it may be too late for so many people now, folks FINALLY start to see the writing on the wall in this one and start taking some action steps.  The scenes with the families in the hospitals, and those scenes with the DOGS, OMG, completely broke my heart!  :(  I was relieved when they finally figured out something to do about the core, but thanks to our new expert, even that plan is going to create some massive problems!!!  Last but not least, to leave me with those poor brave men stuck in the dark as their flashlights go out....!!!!  Such an intense show, looking forward to seeing more!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Yes!! I agree about Boris! And that's so true about the colonel/guy.....very brave!!! I couldn't agree more about the people who made the decision to put their lives on the line to prevent this from being worse!!!!! It was very heroic!!! I think someone might have mentioned the credit scene of the last ep! I'll be sure to pay attention because I'm looking forward to that! Oh boy....I'm going to keep that sad unicorn right near me and fully stocked!!! Sounds like I'm in for a rough ride the next few eps! o.O Thanks for the warning!!!!!!!! And thanks for your compliments on my reaction!!!!! ^_^

This Boris Chtcherbina guy really was a jerk at the start, but just as you, I really liked the fact that he did listened and asked the right question. At the end he was more of a "likable" character. And the military guy, colonel or something, about the almost death sentence about getting the right measurement : "Then I will do it myself". Outch, this one really hurt. He didn't order some soldier to do it because of the danger (as he could have), he took the risk himself... What a guy. To think about all the people that worked (more or less willingly...) to prevent the disaster from taking on a whole new dimension, and paying the price... Well of course they had to do it, because the stakes were way too high, but still. This is really some heroic action. I don't remenber if someone already said it, but the credit scene of the last episode is kind of an epilogue, with what happend to everyone involved in the following years, so it is really interesting to watch ! About the next two episodes, I still can't decide which one has the hardest scene to watch of the whole show. Just saying. Great reaction, keep your sad unicorn near you ;)

Ohhh okay! Got it! That makes sense. Oh boy....!!!! I will most definitely have the tissues ready. Thanks for the warning!

To answer your question about the lights, basically high levels of radiation fry anything electronic. The other questions you had will be covered in the series, with the follow ups in the end credits. I tend to avoid foreshadowing, but I think it is worth warning you that the next few episodes make watched earlier tame in comparison.
