Looking for Live Action Recommendations!

Hey everyone!  It's been brought to my attention that my current live action series, The Witcher, is actually 8 episodes and not 12 - which means I'm finished with it next week!!!  :O  Originally I had planned for it to end in June, so that I'd be able to start reacting to The Boys season 2 in July.

So, I'm looking for a short live action series to watch, preferable 8 or so episodes, to fill in the gap!  I've been given a couple of suggestions by my mod (so I wouldn't have to look anything up about the series):

 1. Watchmen Season 1 (hbo)

2. Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (netflix)

3. Locke & Key (netflix)

Are there any other recommendations out there for a short (less than 10 eps) live action series?  I'd love to hear them!  And I'd love to hear whether or not any of the ones I've listed above interest you!

Some series I've seen already: Basically all of the Marvel Netflix series, Agent Carter, first season of Agents of SHIELD, Smallville, most of the CW superhero shows, Stranger Things, Umbrella Academy, Westworld, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Boys, The Mandalorian (I'll update this section if I think of any more I've seen!!)

Once I have all your feedback, I'll put together a quick poll for you guys next week!!

Thanks so much in advance and have a great weekend!

That's okay! In the future, I might be looking for a longer series so it's all good!

Oops my sugestion is a long series my bad.

Soisen the Guardian

H2o Just Add Water. It is an Australian show about mermaids and if you have already seen it. They also have the spin off Mako Mermaids both on Netflix.

Soisen the Guardian

How about Tokusatsu Gagaga (7 episodes)? It's a comedic drama about an office lady who is a huge tokusatsu fan but hides it due to societal expectations (mainly because of how her mother treated her interests when she was a child).

Jeff Billings

Yes, I think the dialogue would be fine for me, I typically prefer at least a mix of action/dialogue if not more dialogue/character stuff!!!!!!!! Thanks!

Melissa Moore

I haven't!

Melissa Moore

I've seen most of it! >.<

Good Omens

Have you seen chernobyl?

Watchmen is fantastic. Though some people go into it expecting it to be 50/50 action and dialogue driven, and then are disappointed when they find out it's vastly the latter. But I suspect you fit into the category that likes that anyway, so it's probably a plus.

I'm very easily scared but I LOVE horror so it would probably be interesting to react to haha!!

I love Xena!!!! But I've seen it all already!!!!!!!

I thought about The Good Place, what stopped me was the number of seasons, but since they're shorter, that might work out! Hmm! Thanks for the suggestion!

Melissa Moore

I haven't but I've heard so many good things about it!!!!!!!

Melissa Moore

Have you seen Black Mirror? It's almost like the Twilight Zone, with each episode being its own contained story. Really good show.

Corey Hughes

Have you thought about watching The Good Place? A pilosophical comedy set in the afterlife that explores what it takes and means to be a good person (among other things). The first season is 13 episodes but they're Only 22 minutes each, so it wouldn't take up more time than 8-10 45-50 minute episodes. It's one of the best shows in years. And I love The Dark Cystal, was disappointed by Locke & Key and didn't care for Watchmen.

Phillip Grischa

I will say, it is an absolute masterpiece, but I will also say, be ready with tissues.

Anna Kyruin

It's also German, so some ppl may be put-off by that, IMO it's the best time travel story I have seen.

I see you love time travel, I recommend Dark, I don't want to say a lot so not to give anything, it explores the different paradoxes of time travel, it's 2 seasons long (10 eps in s01, 8 eps in s02), s03 is coming this fall (I think?)

I second this

There's an older british series called Life on Mars. It's 2 seasons, 8 episodes each..

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency....season 1 (8 episodes) and season 2 (10 episodes)

I have my Japanese Romcom "Switch Girl". 2 seasons, 8 episodes for each. Plus, Shoutarou from W is the main male character

How about old school xena, used to watch it in my youth would love a rewatch ( xena warrior princes)

m dunt

The Haunting of Hill House is amazing. It is a ten episode run, however.

Preston Elkins

It has 2 seasons so far but if you like the idea of zombies and medieval Korea you should check out Kingdom. If you've ever seen Train to Busan you know how good the South Korean zombie genre is.

Steve

Oh man Dark Crystal Age of Resistance is such a good series, excellent story and the effects (the puppetry) is phenomenal - I really hope you pick that one to watch! If you do watch the show (and I really really hope you do) I'd recommend giving the movie a quick rewatch (it's also on netflix).

Locke and Key would be cool; I'd also really recommend the Haunting of Hill House if you can tolerate some scares amidst a really good, heartfelt story.

Nathan Ousey

Chernobyl if you haven’t seen it already

Peaky Blinders

The Expanse is one of the best science fiction TV series out there, and each season is about that length. I would also put in WestWorld because it's a great series to react to and about that length as well. Second for Umbrella Academy, though I feel like The Expanse and WestWorld are both higher on the list for me :) Oh and the first season of Dirk Gentlys holistic detective agency is amazing as well, I saw that was mentioned.

Daybreak on Netflix

Sifer123

Ooh, sounds interesting! Thanks!

Melissa Moore

I'm dying to see it!

Melissa Moore

I've seen a few eps of it already!!! >.<

Melissa Moore

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is a good time! It's a comic sci-fi detective thing. There's various characters that are sort of connected to the universe in weird ways like the titular Dirk Gently who solves mysteries by just going where he feels like he should be at the time. There is 2 seasons but each season follows it's own overall mystery so you could just do the first season that has 8 episodes.

Locke and Key would be awesome!!!

Alex R

Have you seen Good Omens?

Alex Cross

Chernobyl

J.

Ahh such a great choice, I've already seen it though! >.<

Melissa Moore

I saw it a long time ago!

Melissa Moore

Dark Crystal is definitely a must see if you've seen the original movie

BruhMomento22

The Umbrella Academy is pretty good and 10 episodes
