Hmm, interesting....I think it would definitely be "juicier" if they were brother and sister but even them being related is pretty interesting. After the courtroom scene in season 1, I doubt she'll be calling him "oniichan" anytime soon LOL!!! That's an interesting theory about the change in animation!!! Thanks, Smith's dad definitely looks like "Not Yet" guy!!!! I think I know the flashbacks you're talking about, I'm a few eps ahead now....!! Ohhh thanks for clearing that up about Lord Reiss! I know right?! Eren's quite tasty apparently LOL! Kenny's character has really stood out to me so far for sure! This is a very morally grey season for sure, and it is interesting to watch our crew deal with that as opposed to "humans vs. monsters" which is a much simpler concept. You're so right that our older Scouts have fully embraced doing whatever it takes, while our younger crew is still learning some harsh truths about this world. Armin said a mouthful back in season 1 didn't he?! And now the poor thing has had to live up to those words. Yikes! Dark stuff! I'm enjoying it though!

Hahaha! I'm really lucky, I've been living under a rock when it comes to AoT! I don't look anything up about characters.....and even when I'm looking at memes on Reddit I run in the other direction if one comes up that looks related to AoT...!!! My mod does a pretty good job I suppose, at this point I just don't look at YouTube comments at all, that's how spoiler-free I've tried to stay!!! I know, these kids had no idea what they were getting into....their very purpose has now been turned upside down. Oh no!!! I'm scared that this show has much more drama in store for me!!!!!!! Lol!!!

It does! That's true, there haven't been any Titans so far...!!! This is definitely where things take a darker turn, but in a different way than we've seen before. Yes, I'm really ready for Levi to take center stage! OMG, that name drop.....they just love to drop big reveals really casually into conversation on this show don't they lol?! Yep, the outro song is creepy with a bunch of clues and symbolism. The same with the opening song, clues and symbolism without any spoilers because you can't possible know, and it is the most beautiful but I also thought of it the saddest, underneath it all, given that we know the characters grow up and suffer a lot. A more literal translation for the very relevant lyrics of the outro song... Why did the earth and the sky separate? The world is cruel but beautiful For those who throw stones and those who are hit There is a fence that cannot be easily crossed If the standing position changes, justice strips off its fangs Which one is barking in the cage? I gave up my heart to the irreversible twilight Where is the paradise at end of the night that continued to advance? The rest of the song is very relevant and talks about freedom, the truth of the world collapsing, the will to survive, and the karma of tragedy. Great reaction!! Your face when you heard Levi's last name was priceless! There will be more moments that hint towards Levi and Mikasa being related. But I don't think they're siblings, though it can't be ruled out. And you're right about Kenny, he is from Levi's childhood before the OVA. I have an idea as to why there is a slight change in the animation. I've heard that the manga artist's art style changes and improves, though I haven't read the manga yet. So that could be a reason why, maybe like a little easter egg type thing for the manga readers. Though I'm probably wrong and maybe there was a change in animation studios lol. I also thought the same thing about Smith's dad possibly being the "not yet" guy. There will be some flashbacks between those two, so I'll be looking forward to seeing your reaction to that! Also, with regards to Lord Reiss, he wasn't in the King's room/chambers. Someone came in to declare that they had gotten word from Reiss. So I don't think he serves the King...though I could be remembering that incorrectly. And we'll soon find out why Fritz is sitting on the throne! Can't wait for the next reaction!!! :D

You are right, I just added to the "spoil" ! But yeah, I was really hesitant on this, if we don't mention it now, it will probably be forgotten...

Lmao isn't this like Eren's 5th time or something getting eaten/kidnapped. That boi spends more time captured than being with the good guys. I also personally really enjoy Kenny's overacting, its very humorous and fits his character. Its very interesting that Kenny's group has different equipment and they don't use ODM gear. I also personally enjoy watching characters deal with morally grey things, like killing people. Since it always isn't straight up about being good or evil. Something very interesting to note is the difference between our new recruits and the older members in that they are very prepared to do whatever it takes for the good of humanity. In contrast Armin and Jean especially are still coming to grips with everything, meanwhile Levi and Hange are over here pulling nails off like its nothing. Its like Armin said in S1 "Someone who cant sacrifice anything, cant hope to change anything" or something along those lines. Sometimes we have to abandon everything to achieve something.

You know, when this first aired I think pretty much everyone and their mother was spoiled on Levi's last name. No one I knew batted an eye when Kenny dropped that. So I ended up having to take a second after your reaction to remember that this really is the first time his full name has been dropped in the show! You've got some pretty amazing mods if even that was a big reveal for you! Also, those poor kids. They were trained for so many years to be soldiers for humanity, to fight titans and protect humans. To suddenly have to switch gears and start killing the people they swore to protect really messed with them. Don't let the show hear you say that you've reached your limit on the craziness you can take... It hasn't even finished starting the engine and put it in first gear!!!

I love how you complimented the animation *before* the episode started haha, I was like "you don't know what you're about to see", that scene with Levi escaping using the gear is just eye candy. It's the same studio as always btw, this season they updated the character designs a bit to fit more with how it looks in the manga (Levi is supposed to be in his 30s, and now he actually looks his age as opposed to in S1 when he looked like an edgy teenager (comparison: https://i.imgur.com/vA35dyU.png)). So yeah this whole thing is a lot bigger than just Kenny, as we see them using specialised gear that uses guns instead of blades. Since your hands are usually occupied by using the gear to direct the cable around, the new gear has you fire from the gun itself, so people using the anti-personnel gear (I think it's called) are flying around from their arms instead of their hips. If you think old characters are being unexpectedly made relevant now, you just wait haha I'm so glad you dropped the Levi surname drop! I swear, half the reactors miss it and the other half didnt even realise it was a spoiler because when it was revealed in the manga it became common knowledge, so people just called him Levi Ackerman everywhere. I was worried you would look something up about Levi lol, because all you would need to do is look up "Levi" and "Ackerman" would come up A detail that I forgot to remind you of by the way is regarding Armin's parents. We know from S1 when it was briefly mentioned, that his parents were killed for trying to go outside the walls, and this is why he was raised by his grandpa (who also got killed when he was sent on that mission by the government... poor Armin). It was mentioned in the character encyclopedia that Armin's parents attempted to escape by creating a hot air balloon to go over the walls, however they were discovered by the military police and killed. This episode you see a flash of it when Sannes, the guy being tortured, is talking about all the people the military police have killed to keep the people ignorant. The other two flashes are also important, but they will come up very soon (or they already have depending on how far ahead you are) Btw this might be my favourite ED, the song is really beautiful and you're right it's made by the group who usually does the OPs. It's sad seeing Ymir in it and Historia holding her hand out but failing to reach her, S2 memories of Ymir leaving.

It takes a different turns here, right ? There is no titans so far, but it is even more darker. This episode was dense with heavy stuff. Our young characters are facing with a lot of struggles. Killing titans is just killing monsters (even if know they might be humans...), but now, the "need" to kill humans might take a totaly different toll... You said you will like Levi in this, well after almost an entire season with him just in the background, I hope you will do ;) ... And that casual name-drop really shook you ! About his age, I think Levy is really close to 30. You said the Ralph guy was not as devoted as Sannes. You saw that Hange was making him read something, and they let the cell's door open, maybe purposely for Sannes to hear ? Also, the scene were Levi is fleeing, the one that is incredibly animated (you know wich one !), I've read somewhere that this few secondes have taken an entire month to animate. And we have the result here, what is almost certainly the best animated scene of the whole show, and probably one of the best of the (previous) year. Really good reaction, thanks !

If this almost broke you then i can't wait for what's to come :D I loved that you were able to understand the inner conflict of the levi squad in having to fight other humans. It directly goes against their morale and purpose. The struggle is real and realistic. I'm always disappointed when other reactors aren't able to understand that so i was really happy.
