I hadn't watched the OVAs until I watched them all with your reactions. But OMG this one was soo good!! Just part 1 made me rethink my feelings towards Annie. One thing I would like to mention....without spoiling anything of course...that whole throwing people over the wall thing (like with Ymir) will be explored more in season 3. So more light will be shined upon that :) Can't wait to start part 2!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA I laughed so hard at the first couple of lines of this comment!!!!! So true!!!!!!! XD XD XD It was awesome wasn't it? Glad you're getting the chance to watch it now! Very true that it feels completely natural for her to be the hero of this story despite her being the big villain of season 1. Very similar to how they handled Reiner and Bertholdt for sure...the characters on this show are so well done! Haha Hitch is really starting to grow on me too! Just a heads up the song that's played in the ending of this ova is just a female version of the ost "Call Your name" that has been played multiple times throughout the show, especially in season 1. Annie: *squashes Petra like a bug* also Annie: here, kitty kitty what a great OVA, I don't think I ever watched the full thing, I've seen clips of Annie in action but watching alongside this reaction was the first time I saw the episode in full, so I can't wait for part 2. I vaguely remembered her solving a case about a missing daughter but never made the link between her relationship with her own father tying into that. really well written. it's interesting how in season 1 Annie is quite literally the villain killing characters left and right but for this two-parter she's the protagonist and it doesn't feel unnatural. I guess that's the advantage of having her start out as a person we get to know before her true intentions are revealed, like Reiner and Bertholdt- it's easy to sympathise with them because we knew how they were before the 'betrayal', but like Bert said in episode 11 (?) they weren't lying when they were their friends, they were being themselves. great reaction, this OVA is better than I remember haha. also Annie may be best girl during this but Hitch (the girl whose work Annie is covering) is definitely a contender.

Yes, they are really good at humanizing these "monstrous" enemies. First, we discover that some of these monsters were humans that we liked. But this treason is not that radical in the fact that the show keep painting them as human, with all the emotions that their actions have brought on themself. And a double episode full of Annie, what a treat ! She is kicking ass and we love it. And she's obviously suffering and we... don't like it ? I really liked this special ending they made for Annie. This song is another version of one we have already heard (with a male vocalist), notably in the episode where Eren seal the hole in season 1. In season 1, it was kinda more epic, and now it is more, sentimental ? They are several musics that are '"just" different interpretations of the same theme, but they are SO well done, that you don't feel any kind of repetition, and I love it. Of course, each season bring their new batch of new song, and oh boy the season 3... Also, I just want to point out a possibility. You said that the "not yet" guy might be friend with the beast titan. Remember that in episode 1 of season 2, the beast said to Mike something like "You're using blade, so you know we reside in the nape". Add this to the fact that at the end of season 2, this dude standing on the nape of the beast titan, was surronded by steam. So... ;) Thanks for the reaction, it was great !
