The Promised Neverland 1x06 "311045" reaction & review

Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction to episode 6!  WHOA!!  So, thank God the cliffhanger from last ep didn't end more seriously.  But now Don and Gilda know the truth!  I can't blame Don for being so upset, but I'm glad they all got on the same page about it!  Also, we have a new friend perhaps in William Minerva?!  Can't wait to know more about that story!  Sounds like Emma might have a new plan to get everyone out...but which one is Norman really on board with - Emma's or Ray's plan?!  We learn at the end that Ray is next....gulp!!  And also, what a great idea to sneak useful items out under the guise that they're replacing things that might be used to "kill" mom.  Sister Krone at the end....!!!!  What's gonna happen next?!
I can't wait to see!  Great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Yay!!!!!!!! I'm so happy you're loving my reactions and my reviews of each episode! Phil is best boy hahaha! Ah yes, I think you're right that they've said the mom's name! I heard about season 2, so sad!!!!!!!! >.< I hope it's not delayed by too much!

I can't believe I've already caught with your reactions for this show. Which I am seriously loving! It's really interesting to hear your thoughts and theories. And yes, Phil is precious and I think you're only going to love him more before the season's over. A couple of things I would like to mention: I believe it was in your last reaction (?) you said that you didn't want to call the mom-MOM; she does have a name but I cannot for the life of me remember if it's already mentioned but does come up again. Also, there will be a season 2 and I believe it was scheduled to premier in the Fall, but because of everything that's going on it has been delayed. :(

Hahaha!!! The owl, omg! Thank you!! It is amazing how their dynamic hasn't changed even in light of everything. Norman is so cool and calm, it's incredible. Yay Phil!!!!!!!! Lol!

🦉 “Hi” But seriously, I think you said it best, Ray is who he needs to be. I love the idea of having Ray on their side and utilizing him to their advantage. But I’d still be in square 1 with the initial shock of treachery. I love the composer Norman keeps, having such devastating news be useful. They’re acting normal, like nothings changed b/t the three. I appreciate that. Norman really is amazing. Also Phil is the MVP in this episode.

Manny

I hear you! Initially when he reacted the way he did, I theorized that maybe that's why they didn't tell him, but I see your point with the whole self fulfilling prophecy theory. I felt from the start that keeping all the info from them was a mistake. I think you have a point that if they had told him, his initial reaction wouldn't have been as bad and/or wouldn't have possibly put their goals in as much danger, as his actual reaction to being lied to did. No one wants to have to hurt their family that way (by telling them something so painful) but not telling them ended up being just as hurtful.

Melissa Moore

I know, I felt so bad for him too! YES, the animation is really amazing on this show. That scene......*shudders* lol! Ooohhh glad I'm onto something with Ray! Thank you so much!

Melissa Moore

Hmmm....!!! I know, it's so dangerous, I'm scared for them lol!!!!!! Omg I hear you, they pull you into the story so quickly and even though certain characters are morally gray like Ray, you still don't want to see anything bad happen to them!!! XD Thank YOU!!!!!!!

Melissa Moore

Well, no... Don flipping out at them isn't the REASON they didn't tell them the truth, it's the RESULT of it. Don is clearly as angry as he is not because he's been "driven mad" by the truth but because his family pretty explicitly didn't trust him. If they had been truthful from the beginning, Don and Gilda would have understood the magnitude of the situation and likely not have infiltrated Mom's secret room - or at least, not as carelessly. Also, the worst reaction you probably would have seen from them would be like Emma's: short denial followed by major grief... but then determination to do something about it. Don would have no reason to punch them in anger. It seems unfair to blame Don for making decisions based on untrue information because he was lied to and then say "see, this is why we didn't tell you" when he gets mad... about being lied to. Self-fulfilling prophecy. I think Norman and Emma were 100% in the wrong with how they handled lying to Don and Gilda. Ray kinda argues with the decision, but still goes along with it, so he's not much better. I mean, it's them, not Don and Gilda, that have to change their behaviour and outlook after this, so that says something about who was in the wrong.

Oh man, this is the episode that really made me like Don as a character. My poor tall boy. Also, the scene where the kids are all in the library/dining room/wherever that was, with Don confronting them, the animation looked so great. I immediately got reminded of...THAT...scene in the 1st episode. Oh and Rayyy man. I won’t confirm or deny anything, but typically your theories are somewhat correct.

Oh the danger. Is this really leading to an "alliance" with Sister ? A good idea... but also a bad, BAAAAD idea ! Aaaaaah ! This show is growing more and more on me, and Ray, even if I have still doubt about him, better NOT have a bad ending. Thanks !

HAHAHA!!!!! That emoji is perfect!!!!!!!! XD Exactly, just when you think "hey, they've actually got this" then something happens. It's really nerve wracking but in the best way possible, you know???? XD

Melissa Moore

😳 - My reaction to this episode This episode gives me a bit more hope that at least the five of them will make it out but I don't know, Sister is really throwing a spanner in the works!
