Attack on Titan 2x10 "Children" reaction & review

Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of season 2, episode 10.  OMG!!!  So much info in this ep!  Ymir is OVER 60?!  She was a queen/goddess??  What is the "Coordinate"?!
Were all Ymir's followers/people turning into Titans when they were thrown over the wall?!
Did Ymir just chomp off Christa's leg when she ate her?!  Bertholdt and Annie are a thing?!?!?!  So many questions lol!!!!!!!!  What a great ep!  Enjoy!  ~ MH

Good point, thanks for mentioning it! You know what, I rewatched that scene before watching the next two eps when I filmed them this week, and I did notice that lightening effect!!! So they were turning into Titans as they were thrown off of the wall....?!?!?

When Ymir and her followers were being pushed off the walls, there is a yellowish light that pops up

It was so beautiful!!! And it really does fit so well! I agree that they did a really great job of developing the relationship between the two in such a short period of time!!!!!

The song when Ymir woke up in that desert place gave me chills. Especially the line “You will know you’re reborn tonight” because it fits so well for the scene and Ymir’s character. Easily the best scene so far. Her love for Historia was so well developed in only a few episodes.

It's a great one! You are so right about Ymir; she went from a background character to being extremely important and developed. I couldn't agree more that it's really awesome to see characters who aren't our main three kids get lots of character development! Thank you so much, I'm really happy you enjoyed it and I hope you love next week's too! ^_^

This is one of my favorite episodes of the season. I remember the first time I watched it I was just amazed how much Ymir was developed from an insignificant character in season one into one of the most intriguing characters of season 2. I like the main trio, but the fact the side cast is so versatile and fleshed out just makes this show really awesome. Great reaction as always, really enjoyed it and I can't wait for next week.

Got it! Sorry for the confusion :)

Melissa Moore

Oh I know, I'm sure there was a ton that I didn't even catch or didn't make sense without context of knowing what's coming later. Oops, sorry about that, I thought her last name was Historia! So she's really not Christa at all, which makes sense because Ymir corrects herself in one of the eps I just watched and calls her Historia instead. The soundtrack is amazing! Everything about these eps is just really on point! LOL!!!!!!! I've seen it, omg!! I finally get it! Not yet!!!!!!!!! XD Also, was I supposed to know who that was saying "not yet"?! Sorry if that's a dumb question!!!!!! Just wondering now that I've seen it!!!!!!!

Melissa Moore

Yes, I've seen the next two eps and they are crazy!!!!! Lots of hints dropped in this one for sure! I finally got to see it haha - NOT YET!!!!!!!!! XD

Melissa Moore

When Ymir went to capture Christa, you can see that she used her lips to close her mouth and not her teeth, so she wouldn't hurt or cut Christa's leg.

So much information was dropped in this episode, it's mind boggling go go back and watch it now. And yes, the soundtrack for this show is simply too good, especially with their insert songs. I also really like Ymir and Historia's dynamic, they're among some of the most interesting characters in this show. Speaking of Historia; you kept saying the Historia Family, but her family name is actually Reiss. Just a little think I'd point out~ "Will there be an after credits scene?" *Adjusts glasses* "... Not yet, eh?" (Lol I had to sneak in one last one, although you've no doubt seen that by now)

Ah, this episode is really beautifull. And really heavy on revelations, or at least, big hints. There are several sentences that implies some crazy heavy stuff, but I don't really want to point them out specifically, because you might figure out a little to much thing :p So you already know, but yes, Ymir (Ymir-sama...) is just a random child pick up in the street (among several other). And oh boy, only two more episodes for this season, and as the end of this one suggested, this isn't going to be relaxing and peacefull ! NOT YET, EH ?

OMG that is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!! :O Lol thank you!!! I figured as much since I've seen the next few eps now and her leg is fine :P Could kinda tell that her lips were puckered there upon rewatching! Thanks though haha :D

Melissa Moore

It really is! I never put together all those moments we've seen of her, but you're so right, she's constantly put herself last up until now. She's an awesome character!!!!!!!

Melissa Moore

This is the official endcard dedicated to this episode incase you're interested, it's beautiful, I think they are reselling it but don't know where: https://i.imgur.com/tChHJWd.jpg And don't worry about Christa's leg, Ymir would never hurt her, if you notice, her titan had her lips like in a kissing position so her teeth was pulled back when she got Christa in her mouth :D

Bloodchronism

Ymir's backstory is soooo beautiful. The emotions, the soundtrack, the voice acting , the feels, everything about it was so perfect. I love her, she went through so much. All her life she's been helping people. She gets the blame so that the cult that put her in that situation might be spared. She sees right through Sasha's struggle and tells her to be herself. She sees Connie worrying about his family and risks blowing her cover just to make him pissed at her so maybe he forgets about it for a moment. She saves Christa from a suicidal state of mind and brings her back to life. She risks her life saving the tower. But she convinced herself that she only cares about herself when in reality she wants Christa to be safe and be together with her more than anything else. I love her.

Bloodchronism

yeah I was about to try and rewrite it, I didn't delete it so I have no idea why it disappeared haha. glad you were still able to read it - that was weird.

tom

Tom - I got an email about your comment but can't find it here! Anyway just wanted to say thank you for clearing that up about Ymir being a figurehead, not actually inheriting anyone's blood. I really appreciate it! There was a lot thrown around in this ep and you can see the wheels turning in my brain trying to process it all LOL!!!! Anyway, I need to go see if there's anyone familiar in the cult. Now I'm thinking that maybe some other human Titans we know were part of the cult and that's how they ended up outside the walls?! Not sure......but it's fun to speculate!!!!!!!
