OK, not what I expected at all. My god. I thought this would a slice of life anime but now its a child farm for monsters/demons. I'm hooked tho which is good.

Oh nice, thanks for watching it along with me! YES, so many questions are raised! My guess would be super rich monsters are eating the kids, but it remains to be seen what the monster/human ratio outside the orphanage is. Good call on there possibly being more than one kind of monster too! Guess we'll find out!!!!!! XD

Holy sh*t, this is horrible ! I have planned to watch this at some point, so now is a good time, but I didn't expect that ! I initially thought this was set after WW2, with the number at the beginning (121045), and the global appearance of the house and everything, but after the barcode stuff and the end, I'm don't know what to think... I guess we are hooked for a tragic bumpy ride !

This is one of the best episode 1 hooks I've ever seen in anime, right up there with Attack on Titan. Also, I gotta give a big shout out to Emma's voice actor Sumire Morohoshi; that was the most tortured and anguished scream I've ever heard, and to hear it come from a child... Damn.

This was my first time watching this series, and I felt like something had to be going on, but I was NOT prepared for what it actually was. It's making me question a lot of things, do those monsters rule the world or is this some kind of secret operation? They said it was food for the super rich, do they mean super rich humans are cannibals, or that super rich monsters are? Are they the only kind of monster? (I believe we only saw the ones with vertical eyes and white limbs)
