Attack on Titan 2x05 "Historia" reaction & review

Welcome back!!! Hope you enjoy catching up! OMG.........that's insane!!! How did I not notice that haha....I will need to go back and watch now! Funny thing is, I'm editing some of the first Annie/Titan eps for YouTube now, so I'm getting to really go back and watch, scene for scene, all the little breadcrumbs that were dropped along the way. It's fascinating!

I'm a bit late, been away for a bit but I'm gonna catch up on your reactions now. Suprisingly nobody has mentioned this (from what I've seen). Now with the knowledge of Colossal and Armored titan identity, in this episode when Ymir goes to get the group from the top of the tower, you can see Bertholdt almost biting his hand in panic.

Ah!!!! I was wondering about Daz!!! I didn't remember many of those scenes but I did clearly remember the scene when folks want to desert and Pyxis talks them out of it!!! I didn't realize that was Daz!!!!!!! Talk about a guy with 9 lives, he's been through a lot and come out the other end of it all!!! Here's hoping his good luck streak keeps up :)

Wait, really!? I'm surprised I'm first in line for this. No one is going to mention that Daz is TOTALLY a soldier we know - though a relatively minor one. He was the soldier who threw up on the ground when the Battle for Trost started. Fittingly, Christa offers him some water. Also, he tried to commit suicide because he was happy that his friends got eaten instead of him. Marco stopped him. Finally he was the soldier who was totally ready to be executed rather than fight titans, but after Pyxis tells all present that "anyone who wants to desert is welcome to, but know that you'll be subjecting your family to the horrors of titans, instead" he is encouraged to fight on. He would later survive that battle, by the way.

Yes, I remember that scene!!! Have they said where Herring comes from? I can't remember if they did!!! >.< My best guess would be that Ymir is from somewhere else, and judging by Reiner's reaction, the place she's from has some kind of controversy for some reason?!

I totally get it now why everyone told me not to watch it - I was already suspicious that the Armored and Colossal Titans were human, so I may have actually pieced something together based on the theme!!! :O

Hey Melissa! I just wanted to pose a question to you.... Ymir and Reiner were having that conversation in the towers stock room. Ymir ended up saying the can with the weird lettering was was Herring. When Reiner asked to see the can, he was unable to read the lettering. Where does Herring come from?

Very good reaction ! And your theories, ahah. I want to validate some, to dismiss some, some are so close, yet so far, aaargh. So I will keep my mouth shut and watch you struggle to find the truth :p I will just make a bet that I am confident that whatever you might come up with, you won't be able to predict were this is going. This show has an immense replay value. There are a lot of details throughout the show that only make sens in retrospective, or even only after a second viewing (as you have probably seen in episode 6, but it will very rarely be explained to you like that). I, and other I'm certain, will point them to you once past a certain threshold. And I think you might be right about the fact that Ymir didn't tell Christa/Historia about her secret. I wish that wednesday would come sooner :D

Cant wait to see next weeks reaction and shock! By now you have seen the Opening song, because you’re always a few episodes ahead. I wonder if you see the spoilers in it now that you have seen the reveal?
