Star Trek Picard 1x10 "Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 2" reaction & review

Hey everyone!  Here's my reaction and review of episode 10 of Picard.  Get ready for some blubbering!!!!!!  This one 1000% felt like Star Trek to me, particularly the battle scene.  It was so crazy awesome to see Riker again!!  Picard showed he was willing to do anything to show mercy and diplomacy towards another species, even lay down his life.  Also, the return of the Picard Manuever.  ALSO, those scenes with Data!!!  This episode was everything.  What a great season!  Thank you for joining me, I hope you'll do the same for season 2!  MAKE IT SO!!!! ~ MH

Thanks for watching along with me! You bring up some good points here, particularly about Narek and Dr. Jirotti which I was also kinda wondering myself haha, but some of the other moments like the scenes with Data sort of overshadowed them for me. Sorry to hear it was mostly predictable for you! You totally called it that technically Picard did die!!!!!!!! I knew that "Blue Skies" sounded like Soji singing at the end!!!!!!!! Yay, I was right haha. Thanks for taking the time to explain about the lifespan issues, that does clear it up a bit!! OMG, I had heard about Patrick asking Whoopi to come in for season 2!!!!!! I hope it happens!!!!!!!!! XD

Some things i will be nitpicking but as I said I've been a fan for a very long time. FIRST let me say i called it and Picard did technically die at the end which i think is where the series should have ended. I am only happy because i like star trek and more episodes add more lore. As soon as i saw that Golem i knew Picard was going into it, and i was literally going "Don't cop out, don't cop out" because i knew what they were going to do. Disappointed we didn't get to see more of the cybernetic beings. Is it me or did Narek just disappear at the end? Also... don't tell me Dr. Juratti is staying onboard. Ok she freed picard and helped resurrect him but... she still killed someone. Please don't tell me she gets a pass. The picard maneuver was a nice callback but a bit contrived. I had a problem with the fight at the end because there is a problem with the romulan and federation fleets. The romulan ships were all the same and the federation were all the same. I get it, it was a cost saving move i'm sure, but there were some pretty impressive battles in voyager and DS9. Also, why all of one ship when there is always a hodgepodge of newer ships and fairly old ships. Especially WARSHIPS The federation is "peaceful" so i'm not sure why it had so many powerful war ships to send on the fly. It would have been cool to see the old sovereign class (enterprise e) and the Prometheus class which was seen in the voyager episode where the doctor was sent to the ship and they ended up fighting... ROMULANS. This is especially odd considering the Utopia Planetia shipyard was destroyed which isn't to say there aren't others but it was certainly a big loss to the federation. I enjoyed picard's speech about teaching by example and him and data actually getting to say goodbye (thank you continuity for having data in the right uniform that he died in) I enjoyed seeing Seven kill Narek's sister i liked that it seemed like Seven would be joining the crew. There were bits and pieces but overall i was disappointed because it was exactly what I expected to happen. Oh, and it was nice seeing Jonathan Frakes again. Oh and it would have been so much easier if Soong had shown the video of Sutra killing the other android to everyone else especially Soji. I think i'm done... btw interesting fact. the actress that plays soji is the one singing "blue skies" at the end which is significant because it was playing at the beginning of tng and data sang it at Riker's wedding. Also i heard it got renewed for two seasons. Also, it was Scotty that was on tng but he was preserved in a transporter buffer. Let me get geeky: Technically humans have a built in life-span of around 120 years as the telomeres which protect our dna is finite so the dna becomes damaged when it runs out and this is what causes aging and death. As we saw with bashir and Kahn eugenics was a thing and banned so no messing around with genetics so picard would have roughly 26 maybe 30 years to live. Sorry, i just found something while browsing youtube. Patrick Stewart was on The View who one of the hosts is Whoopi Goldberg and he asked her live if she would like to return for the second season and she said yes. That makes me happy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsA61VvA8cw
