Added 2020-03-09 11:04:46 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here's my reaction/review of season 1, episode 25. I can't believe we're done with the season now! Eren finally musters up the courage to take out Annie, but even then, he hesitates just long enough for her to crystallize. Sometimes I think Eren has normal feelings about things, and other times, like later in this ep when he mentions he enjoys fighting as a Titan, I think there's something else going on with him! Also,, I called it that Annie damaged the wall because now there's a little Titan peephole in the wall!!! :O What a season, you guys - I can't wait for the OVAs and season 2!! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Eren has no regard for property damage or casualties either!!!!!!! >.< That's interesting that the manga differs so much from the anime!!! Good point that the point was supposed to be that he has to think rationally/strategically but it was really his epic Titan fiery mode that won the battle. Thanks for pointing that out, don't think I would have thought of it on my own!! The manga resolution might make a bit more sense, actually, thanks for explaining it. What a creepy scene it must have been for Mikasa to be right up close to the Titan in the wall!!!!! XD So about the OVAs....I know there are a few. The only ones I'll be watching right now are Ilse's Notebook (reaction coming tomorrow!) and No Regrets 1 and 2 (coming next week, when I'd usually release episodes). Then I'll start season 2!!!!!! I'd love to watch all the OVAs I can right now, but decided to go with just the essentials so I can dive right into s2!!!!!!!!!! :D

Also, good call about the miner hitting something that was like Annie's crystalizing ability. Can't wait to see what happens next!!!!!!!!! XD

I think I read too much into the whole "Titans are too light" thing haha, I get it now that she was just giving an example of how little we really know about the Titans and how they work. As weird as she can be lol, it's great that we have someone like Hanji who really wants to answer those questions!! Good call about Annie, too.....yeah, she isn't always quite so conscious of her killings lol but I get now that she was intentionally trying to hurt anyone. It's obvious that she is very complicated and I'm dying to know more about her situation/motivation! Good lord, I'm not sure how much more somber we can get with the tone LOL!!! But I'm stoked for season 2 and can't wait to see what happens next! Thank you so much!!!

2020-03-10 12:37:18 +0000 UTCI do find it funny that you criticized Annie for crushing people at the start of the episode when it was Eren who punched her and sent her flying into that building lol. Though you can see from her titan's facial expression that she did show a reaction to it. The anime is very different from the manga in this finale. For starters that fiery rage mode Eren has this episode that allows him to defeat Annie never happened in the manga so don't expect to ever get any sort of explanation for it. The studio at the time didn't know whether they were ever gonna end up making season 2 so I imagine they just wanted to end the series off with an epic bang by adding in stuff like that. It's not that important but it is a bit of a disservice to Eren's character since the whole point that Eren was supposed to learn from his first fight with Annie was that he can't win with just rage alone and that he needs to think things through and act strategically. They even say this in the episode but then completely contradict it when Eren's rage mode is what let's him win the fight. In the manga Eren loses to Annie again in the fight but cooperates with the survey corps and Mikasa and Armin so that when Annie tries to run away after she beat him and Mikasa cuts her down, Eren restrains her whilst the survey corps try to pull her out of the nape of her titan right before she crystallizes herself. Also in the manga Mikasa is on the side of the wall after cutting Annie down when that piece of wall crumbles from where Annie dug her fingers in whilst trying to climb so Mikasa ends up seeing that titan in the wall right up close and is stood right next to it's face. Anyways what are you planning on doing regarding the ova's now? You can watch almost all of them before you start season 2. The only ones you can't watch are the Lost Girls ova's which you shouldn't watch until you've finished season 2 at the earliest. I'd recommend prioritising watching the No Regret ova's which have 2 parts first which delves into Levi's backstory.

2020-03-09 23:51:37 +0000 UTCok.. so as people already said it.. yes that wasnt a titan peeping through the wall from outside but from inside the wall :O also.. just a theori but when the miner hit the ''bedrock'' ah his shovel broke.. it feels like when Jean was hiting Annie's.. block :D and his sword broke hmm.. :D about the ova.. holy crap i cant even remember if i watched it :D nah.. cant say next thing.. kinda spoiler-ish cant wait you to see more of it :)

2020-03-09 15:40:31 +0000 UTCjust to clarify hange's comment earlier in the season about the titan experiments. she was more so just commenting on how the physiology of the titans is so odd and that shows how little we know about them. that's why she mentioned them not being able to stand up, she was saying how something that size should be too heavy to be bipedal, so it makes sense that the titan body parts she held were surprisingly light. another thing, in the beginning annie didn't mean to crush those people. it was carried over from the previous episode where eren punched her and she went flying onto a building, that was why she was looking at the blood on her hands. though she did turn that one soldier into a human yo-yo when she first appeared so her empathy might not be too consistent haha. loved your talk about the characters, season 2 is my favourite season, it has a more... sombre tone? i don't want to give anything away but it is very character driven and you'll definitely get to know some of the other characters during it. my two favourite characters are as good as they are thanks to their moments in season 2.

There aren't any spoilers but it is some extra theorizing you could do. Let me know if you want it but I wont post in case you decide against this.
