Neva is my only costumed hero story...she was influenced by a LOT of things...Batman, Daredevil (during the Frank Miller run) Moon Knight (especially Moon Knight...he was such a complicated person...I LOVED it) The Punisher (before Marvel messed up his series by putting out WAY to many Punisher titles!!!!!) The Authority (that was a GOOD, adult oriented, Super Hero series.)And also...movies. One movie in particular...To Live and Die in LA...where the Hero of the movie...a Secret Service agent...was dark...he was willing to do any thing it took to arrest a counterfeiter who had killed his partner. The man committed a ROBBERY!!! resulting in the death of a FBI agent...just to get front money to make the bust. BIG influence on me...the Hero...was just as bad as the so called bad guy he was trying to bust!!!

That movie had a huge influence on my way of thinking about stories...I wanted a story like that...a costumed hero...who is also dark.... multi layered ,and complicated. she isn't about turning the baddie in to jail...she wants them eliminated...if she can...she kills them. for her...fighting crime is war. kill the enemy... Neva's original name was Dark Bird...I later changed it to Neva Knownes Neva is an adult oriented hero series.... Neva is also a very complicated person.... a cop wants to kill her...at first....Neva plans to kill this Heroine killer...but as she gets to know this cop....the relationship between them gets complicated.... If you read the first issue already...you know this cop is a mad woman...she hunts costumed heroines and kills them...and now she has her sights set on Neva... and mean while...while this dark relationship develops...Neva fights crime in her county.... against a growing rogues gallery...which includes her own father!!!! Adrian Jones...a crime boss and leader of the Union of four...an organization dedicated to world take over....
