Goons and Ghosts Digital Download!

This month's release is Goons and Ghosts, a Ghost Busting TTRPG! Download the PDF from the link at the bottom of this post!

Goons and Ghosts is a hack of Nate Treme's Tunnel Goons, a wonderful rules light game that is great for making characters quickly and jumping straight into the action.

The rules cover how to play, creating characters and teams, as well as some helpful GM advice and a few example ghosts. Next month's release will be three single-session adventures meant specifically for Goons and Ghosts

If you have any questions about the game, swing by the Discord server and we'll be happy to help you out.

As usual, there will be a round of proofreading before the zine goes out to print early next month. Shipping for Legend Tier patrons will happen as soon as the zines arrive. But just a heads up, printing seems to be taking a few weeks longer than usual because of paper shortages. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to send me a message!

A reminder that Patreon automatically charges you on the first of every month! Goons and Ghosts is the August zine. If you have any questions or concerns, please send me a message and I'll get you taken care of!

Have fun bustin' some ghosts!

Thank you so much for all this help in detail. Sorry if I’m bugging. Just getting all the last minute things set up for Friday's Game night. Running the Chaos one shot (red book) and still on the fence about making a Bulleye terrain replica for the crew to look at and explore

That all depends on what's going on in the story. If the ghost is minding its own business and the players shoot their particle throwers at it, they are going first. If the ghost is haunting the area and gets the jump on the players, it goes first. This game is rules light on purpose. If there aren't specific rules listed for things like initiative or turn order, it's meant to decided upon in the moment. Whatever makes the most sense in fiction. As the GM you can just point at a player and ask them what they do in that moment, then decide how they should roll.

So when the ghost appears, it goes players first then GM “turn”?

Robert Sandoval

Doesn’t need to be systemized or strict in any way. GM describes what’s going on, players describe how they react. If something dangerous happens then the GM can call for a roll. Hope that helps!

I’m Ish from YouTube. My question is how do you conduct the exploration part of g&g? Is it turn based, or some type of initiative?

Robert Sandoval

I have recently found your videos on youtube and quickly subscribed. I recently saw this video and thought it was awesome. I was really into roleplaying back in high school and college, but work and life got in the way. My daughter is now starting to dip her toe in and also jsut saw ghost busters so I thought this was perfect. I had to get these so I signed up on Patreon! Keep up the good work.
