Game Development Log#3

I apologize for my long absence. I finished Dr. Anesthesia's finishing move while I was away and made portraits for the character selection screen (there is also a non-futa version of this move which has fingering instead of a handjob, I just didn't have time to record it). Now I have all the animations needed to make a version of the game with two characters.

Releasing a playable multiplayer demo around December still looks very realistic. The only things  on the to-do list are Unity related, which is what I will be doing from now until December. I already managed to port a wrestling arena to Unity, but I still need to do some work on changing the textures.

I'll post another update when I make the proper character select screen and integrate the animations and models into the already working rock-paper-scissors game I made, hopefully by late October or early November, and do minor polish before the December release.

One thing that still has me worried a bit is receiving a cease and desist letter from Konami for using their intellectual property. This ties in to the way the multiplayer currently works. If they force me to stop, I'll have to take down the dedicated servers for the multiplayer, which would mean that you won't be able to play with other people anymore. To circumvent this, I'm considering adding a peer-to-peer multiplayer option, which would mean that you can still play with other people, but you will have to use third-party software such as Hamachi to do so. The downside of this would be that it would eat up another 3 or 4 months of development time, which is why I still haven't decided on it, and I will probably not prioritize this feature. 

Another good alternative if the cease and desist scenario happens will be to drop the Rumble Roses character models and replace them with original ones made with "Makehuman" or possibly purchase 3d models from an artist. This would still eat a couple of months to acquire and replace the current models, but at least then I will have complete creative freedom of the game, since I'll be using my own art.

Anyway, enough of my rambling about hypotheticals. I'm going full speed ahead in making a functioning multiplayer version with Dr. Anesthesia and Mistress as playable characters, ETA this Christmas.

I'm not sure if everything is going to work as intended when it's ported for mac, especially the multiplayer. Plus I've never done it before.

Looking forward to December! Do you know if macOS would be able to run the game as well ? I’m interested in trying this when it’s released
