kyle and i hanging out with my dad

i met kyle at a random show in late 2014; he said he needed a place to stay so i suggested he room with me at this house of 5 people. as soon as he moved in, we began jamming regularly and i realized he was just about the best bassist i'd ever played with. i asked him to record bass and vocals for the song "weird beard" (which i feel is the first real nouns song, sort of.) then i expressed my distaste for doing vocals live, and asked him to do those in the nouns live band so i could focus on just playing guitar in the corner by myself. he felt like the first person i meshed with entirely when it came to music.

my favorite thing about my late teens and early 20's was definitely living with kyle, spending all day playing nintendo 64, grinding blazblue, and just generally not having a care in the world outside of hanging out, watching funny videos and making music together. these days, it still brings a real joy to make him laugh. he's a good friend and has a good chuckle.

he's got a birthday coming up, so, hey man happy birthday, i love you.
