The Tiger tank was the most feared tank of WW2. It fired an 88mm round that took out American tanks with one shot. An you will hear the term MG 42, often in this series. It's a German machine gun, the best one WW2.

All of Western Europe was under Nazi Germany control for over 5 years. These people were terrified fir the lives, beaten, starved, you name it. The Nazis were very cruel.The people of Holland like many other countries, learned to speak German to help pockets of resistance fighters across Europe.

Holland (and all of Europe) was occupied by the Germans for 5 years -- the Germans, tortured them, stole their food, starved them, killed them, and sent the Jewish people to concentration camps, etc., etc. The people of Holland were on our side and they were celebrating because they believed they were being rescued and the Germans were being driven out. Those poor Dutch women may not have had a choice but to sleep with the Germans to survive. The Germans had taken over all of the countries in Europe except for England. This was what World War II was about.
