Aliceint was raised to believe that when the time comes her life and her kids will taken so that Renyra's claim can be solidified. I think the word you were looking for was "ruthless"

First, overall I am team Black. But…the more I watch thinking from a European historical perspective, the more I understand Allicents jealousy and hatred. She lived by the rules of the day. Played her role as a Lady and then as Queen. Pumped out heirs for the king (who pays them no attention at all, Rhaenera is his favorite). Allicent is essentially trapped in that role, and to add insult to injury, her kids wont even be the heirs because Viserys decided to go against the politics of the day and name his daughter. plus, Rhaenerya has no respect for the political rules of the realm. Doesn’t take the opportunity to make change seriously knowing she is not the preferred choice. Your claim as a monarch is only as strong as the the people in your realm willing to die for the power the keep by backing you. But she acts more like she is entitled to it so everyone should let her do what she wants. Royals having bastards happened, but trying to pass them off as heirs was literally considered treason punishable by death. Rhaenera knows this, but doesn’t care. If she wanted her claim to be more powerful to make history as the first woman to be queen, she should have been smarter. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤔

Exactly! Daemon did care for his wife. But Uncle Valeryon was busy calling out the fact that Rhaenera’s kids are bastards during a Eulogy. Definitely a dark humor moment.

Mair's reaction to the reveal that he wasn't dead was exactly like mine haha. It seems so stupid and then you realise they tricked you. It's impressive.

Tay Lawson

She can it like she ignores how bloodthirsty and sociopathic her sons are. If she had any sense she’d quickly realize her sons took their own eye out by starting the fight

Simone Cherie

Alicent came all the way out of character in front of everybody smmfh

Highlighting this point that dragons aren't inherited or passed down to children. Daemon claimed Caraxes, a dragon that was ridden by Rhaeney's father before he died. And Rhaenys claimed Meleys, dragon that was ridden by Daemon's mother before she died. It's understandable for sentimental reasons why Rhaena would want to attempt to claim her mother's dragon Vhagar, and it's understandable why she would be upset that someone else tried to claim Vhagar right after the funeral, but as you pointed out, no one had a claim to Vhagar after Laena died. It's a beast that is free to bond with whomever she pleases to bond with.

This is the episode that cemented me on Team Alicent. Aemond was being an asshole but Baela threw the first punch and then the 4 of them started beating up Aemond and took his eye and Alicent is just supposed to get over it. Nah. Also Aemond didn't steal a dragon. The moment Laena died, that dragon was up for grabs. Rhaena didn't have any more claim to it than Aemond did.

The most recent and relevant example of Targaryens being burned is Laena. She is half Targaryen from Rhaenys and a dragonrider and we just saw her die from fire.

Sophie, Targaryens are not immune to fire. They can 100% be killed by dragon fire (or any fire), and many have. Daenerys was special. Also, anyone who has Valyrian blood (not just Targaryen blood) can TRY to bond with a dragon, but it is very dangerous. Dragons choose their own riders, but they will only bond with a single rider and will not accept another while their rider is alive. Now that poor Laena has died, anyone of Valyrian descent can attempt to bond with Vhagar...if she doesn't kill them in the process.

Daemon was laughing at the funeral bc the guy (dont remember his name) that was talking was basically talking crap about rhaenyras kids not being valerian.

Samantha

Helena did say he'd have to lose an eye to gaina dragon a few episodes ago

This was the episode I actually fully sided with Allicent. It’s insane how she’s supposed to just ignore her son losing an eye in a 4 v 1 fight (that he didn’t throw the first punch in), and just “make peace”. Rhaenyra is still so entitled and getting away with anything like when she was little. But Allicent is depicted as a jealous, crazy person for pointing it out? Hell naw lol. Obviously the eye for an eye thing is a bit too much, but if your child has lost an eye forever, it’s gonna make anyone extremely emotional. Especially if your husband and the father of said child is just being nonchalant about it.
