Very interesting! :)

Mair was so spot on about Alicent this episode. She goes out of her way to do as her father commands, helps Viserys and Rhaenyra, but she doesn’t really get the same back. You can see that she anxious all the time.

You had it right the first time Mair…The intro is the Targaryen royal bloodline, going from one crown to the next representing the King, queen, and all the heirs they had. Definitely watch the intro every time cause it changes as more Targaryens are added to the story kinda like the GoT intro changed based on the locations we went to.

also- not to mention that quite a few houses originating from Old Valyria were indulging themself in blood magic. the Targaryen’s being one of those houses… which explains why they have a bond with dragons and able to wield/train them. not to mention the possibility that Targaryen’s were once interbreeding with dragons (yes… I know) remember in season 1 when dany enlisted the help of that witch to help save drogo…but the sacrifice was her baby and the witch was saying it had scales and wings like a dragon? Its commonly disputed that this is as a result of their (once upon a time) interbreeding with dragons!!! It also explains why Targaryen’s preferred to marry within their own house (incest) to keep the magic and ancient bond with dragons alive. anyway… its a very, very long story and much deeper than you think. but you see how again it’s all rooted in blood. there’s plenty lore on YouTube about the doom of Old Valyria and I think you need to sit down and watch one to fully grasp Targaryen history. would love to watch you react to it :)

at the start sophie was asking why there was so much blood in the intro. every house has a sigil and phrase associated with the house if you will. lannisters was “hear me roar” since their sigil was a lion. starks, “winter is coming” and the targaryens is “fire & blood” hence all the blood! Varys in GoT actually makes a direct reference to their house phrase when discussing with tyrion danys declining state of mind in s8 by saying “I guess we should’ve of expected it, targaryens represent fire & blood” :)

The crab feeder did indeed have greyscale but the places you were correlating with each other from game of thrones were not the same places. The place that Tyrion and Jorah passed through was Old Valyria where the doom happened to the Valyrian race. The Targaryen’s are originally from that place old Valyria where they resided at until the doom occurred which wiped out mostly all of the Valyrian’s and thousands of dragons that were there leaving only the Targaryens and Lord Corlys house the last surviving Valyrian’s we know of. Lord Corlys is also Valyrian as the Targaryen’s are, just a from a different house than them.

Also in case no one else has mentioned it, there are major time jumps between the first 8 episodes. Between the first and second episode, it was 6 months. And some episodes have years in between them, so it’s important to listen to the dialogue because the writers do a good job of explaining the time lapses.

Just a suggestion - After each episode, there’s an “Inside the Episode” segment. It’s not “behind the scenes.” It’s a few minutes of the writers discussing what happened in the episode and why the characters are doing what they’re doing. I highly recommend watching them after every episode. It would clear up A LOT of questions and allow you to appreciate the story in more depth.

yay i’ve been like on the edge of my seat waiting 😊
