the storytelling was trash and people lost faith in dany because of it. put plain and simple. I wasn't at all comfortable with the rampage she went on, she DID kill thousands of innocents after all and that is pretty hard to ignore. however, dany was never extended the grace other GoT characters were given... it was definitely a shock to her that being her usual kind, polite self didn't work in westeros. and not only that but given the cold shoulder and a cold welcome by those up north when she saved their fucking lives!!!! like I can't believe so many GoT fans forget her army and two dragons gave them the time for arya to carry out fate. without her, it was certain death. what did they say in ep 1 of HoD????? the prophecy, aegons dream???? a targaryen was always needed to win this war! you'd think they would feel forever indebted to her (those up north, including sansa) but in the end she got a knife to heart. yet most peopled jeered and celebrated in the final episode when sansa become queen of the north and dany dead. unbelievable. dany did try on several occasions to be friendly with sansa. sansa was definitely wrong to treat her so coldly because if someone is being polite the least you could do is be cordial even if you are faking it. like i said, was never extended grace quite like the rest of them. the more i rewatch GoT the more i begin to dislike Jon Snow (only after season 6) dany did not deserve to die. but ultimately, the real enemy is the storytelling... those WRITERS!!!!! terrible

I've spent a lot of time chuckling to myself watching you both hold steadfast in your belief that dany should rule... unlike others that have taken it to heart (after all, it is a tv show, yes GoT is a show unlike any other and we grow to develop fond attachments to its characters moreso than you would watching a regular series, but... again, its a tv show!) watching the finale initially, well, I was confused more than anything else.

Jon turned dumb and all that won't marry an aunt shyt was stupid when Sansa was engaged to her cousin Lord robin of the vale... Jon's ending was trash ..., Tyrion should of been killed by Dany . He was a terrible hand to her.. (ppl forgive this because he is a fan favorite character) The unsullied shouldn't have allowed him to even have an opinion on who would be king.. Bran said he couldn't be Lord of anything but somehow ended up Lord of the seven kingdoms implying he knew how shyt would go obviously seeing some of the future ( shown in the scene when he was waiting for an old friend that being Jaime at Winterfell hinting he seen he would come)..Yara should have also sued for independence for the iron islands along with sansa .. cersi died stupidly not a good ending .. the euron fight with jaime was dumb as hell.. Varys tried to poison Dany with his lil birds so his death was also deserved after Danny's warning .. and it is very popular opinion that the last 2 seasons are trash .. I find ppl who didn't watch in real time are more forgiving of the last 2 seasons flaws... Jon's lineage was thrown out the window .. and arya becoming christopher columbus after being an assassin that wanted to go home was stupid.. and bran not just releasing Jon after the unsullied left is questionable, but on a good note the cinematography was superb ...smh

This reaction was everything everyone expected from these two...smh. No real grasping the storylines at all....because you all were so caught up in favorite characters. You can't watch a complex show like that!!!!! Constantly dismissing the craft of the actors and their lines..etc. GOT isn't made for everyone. Yea the ending sucked but it sucked for everyone! Jon was robbed as well of a proper ending more than anyone. Danaerys was never a good ruler... period....good conqueror yes....good ruler? No. She always struggled. Maybe you guys will catch the realness of the show in months to come on your next watch.....when you're not flooding the scenes with meaningless chatter. Most of us have watched this series several times and you always catch more and more each time. Phenomenal show...bad ending but bad for several uncompleted arcs.

I would like to ask, have you guys lived in a country where is war going on? I mean it’s not ok in any war to purposely kill civilians and destroy cities. It’s happening right now in Ukraina, and those Russian leaders sure are crazy as f. So I was a bit triggered, not gonna lie, about the attitude about destroying city as normal act of war. Ofcource I understand this is only tv-show. :) In my opinion, as others too, this was horrible ending to a great series. And I wish so much writer himself would finish the books, so we’d know true ending. Anyway, thank you both so much for taking this journeys to watch GoT with such passion and analytic minds. I was not dany fan girl so I saw her tendencies from the episode where her brother gets killed onward to the part where she learned who Jon was. She became all the things she said she was figthing against. She killed hundred of thouthands of people. She could have burned the shit out of the red keep with Cersi in it. She was by nature a conquerer never fit to rule. As far a Jon he never wanted to be king so he was sent up north to appease the unsullied but got to ilve his life with the free folk. As far as Bran being king , he's really not he is just a head piece . A nuetral person that they agreed on, Tyrion is running that kingdom. I don't think that Sansa should have gotten what she always wanted, that was annoying to me personally. Arya killing the Night King was perfect, she trained her whole life to kill so it makes sense to me. Watching it a second time helped me catch things that went over my head the first time around. Even with the ending this is still one of my favorite series. Sorry for your loss...

2023-08-08 00:43:36 +0000 UTCLook, I liked Dany but could not cosign what she did. when she burned all the people of Kings Landing cuz she was pissed, I was like OMG! Those people had nothing to do with anything going on between Dany and Cersei and for her to burn everybody, the actual people she came to rule over, just made her no better than Cersei in my eyes. Plus, she didn’t even go after Cersei to kill her. Cersei died in Jamie’s arms instead of screaming like she should have. What the hell, Dany?! She ended up being just like her father and Cersei and did not deserve to even touch The Iron Throne after that. And Jon basically pleading with her at the end…anyway, in the end Dany was the one that knew nothing. Even after all her carnage, She kept telling Jon that she knew what was good…girl really? She became The Queen Of Ashes and couldn’t be allowed just to burn up the 7 Kingdoms like she did Kings Landing. Westeros wasn’t a bunch of slaves that needed saving. They just needed to not be ruled by The Mad Kings, The Cersei’s and Daenerys’ of the world.

I haven't read it, but everything was so much better when they had the books to go off of. If they really wanted the ending events to go the way they did, they needed to have more seasons and better writing and layout of why it happened. I love this show, but the last season did hurt a lot of people's view of the show and I feel the same way. I think this is why the writer of the books has a difficult time finishing them because after how the show ended, how do you end the books but keep it close to that when it went so south? But that's just my opinion.

I get being a Daenerys fan, but she killed all of those people because she could not handle that Jon, the last Targaryen King, was both the rightful ruler and was more loved.

They were trying to wrap things up because they were gonna write Star Wars-- which fell through anyway. They should have handed over the reins to writers who weren't burnt out. I hope you do watch House of the Dragon. Different writers and completely different show. As someone who HATED this ending and the character assassination of Danny as much as you did, I think you should. Also, good point about burning the city down. She should have just taken out Cersei and the Red Keep without burning the city-- but you've made her decision make more sense to me (sacrificing the few for the many; making a statement to make the people submit) and even her "They don't get to choose" line. All rulers choose what's good or not good for their people, as you said. Jon, Tyrion, Cersei, Rob, etc. That's just how it is.

Danny didn't even kill for power, but to free a lot of people, having three dragons he has never, ever abused his power she's been the mad queen, she's always tried to do it right. Since she arrived in the west, no one wanted her, no matter what she had done, what she did, put aside her purpose and go to the North and they didn't even thank her for that... I think it's horrible to burn the whole city but when it's come to this point point nor the surrender was reliable. Olena already told him "be a dragon" and Misandei saw that the people here had no remedy... Dracarys. I will always love Danny, my last episode is 3. I have really enjoyed seeing your reactions

2023-08-07 07:00:07 +0000 UTCAs Sophie says the arc of the characters has become meaningless... I think the ones who died in chapter 3 were the only ones with a decent ending, Joraj, Theon... At the moment it was learned that the season would have 6 episodes, it was known that it was going to be a disaster, perhaps with 10 it would have had a better development and would not have left this horrible void. In this chapter, what most transmitted to me was an image created by CGI, Drogon trying to wake up Danny is the only thing that has touched my soul in this chapter.

Now it’s hard to rewatch because you know that it’s gonna end on a bad note. On a good note, House of the Dragon isn’t written by the same writers for Game of Thrones. 2023-08-07 06:49:40 +0000 UTCthe writers said that Drogon burned the throne because it was there...don't give the writers credit for anything in this last season :) Since he arrived in the west with Tyrion Danny began to lose everything, quickly and without much sense. In season 7 they went back to dumb Tyrion. He never trusted Cercei and suddenly he believes everything??? trying not to hurt his family was not his job as a hand. It made it fatal. Jon got busted in season 8 giving him two lines "I don't want it" "she's my queen" and he grabs and kills Danny while kissing her??? kill her while she fights, head on but like this? while kissing her Danny deserved a better ending. After burning Landing they weren't going to let her win, but this ending??? it is awful. (comment written after seeing Danny's death, still watching)

That's different than saying it wasnt bad, that how she conquered wasn't even bad? Hundreds of thousands of civilians dead.... you guys keep ignoring that death toll. Like it was unavoidable. Arya hasn't killed innocents like that. You don't have to be perfect, but not being a mass murderer is a start. Say it's bad writing and not who Dany is. Don't say it was fine or justified.

Nothing has come of it yet. They were trying to write a show about how what if the north lost the civil war. 😏 Idiots. There were a lot of people who always hated Dany. Woman. Power. People hate it. The whole world felt like you guys feel though. Even Dany haters were like WTF?! It was so so so bad. They have since erased them, but there starbucks cups in scenes, water bottles. there are some AMAZING videos breaking down how bad the ending was. They are cathartic (and funny) to watch. I rec Lindsey Ellis “Dragon Lady Bad” #teamdany4eva. Stay honest. There are people defending this shit. But most do NOT. People still hype because of how good season 1-4 and 6 was so so so good. Live, when John died the whole audience knew he was not staying dead. So it wasn’t like a surprise. HoTD is totally back to good GoT. Its very good. I think its going to be brutal though in terms of losses.

I just don’t care anymore. The overall rating for the show went down drastically after I watched this crap. Makes perfect sense why the show creators went into hiding the day of the finale.

We know Cersei we know who Cersei has always been. Jon and others felt like Dany would be the same as the other rulers if she decided to burn everything and everyone. You can't sit on the other side and say "idc because cersei deserved it." She gave people hope because she was a spokeswoman for the people. How can you burn innocent people and still claim to be the "breaker of the wheel" . The ultimatum is join me or die? It reminds me of that quote "you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." If you put things into perspective Daenerys used her charm, beauty, dragons, and stance on ruling as her crutch but once you start playing the game back with people who are equally as good things become more challenging.
