Sophie, you’re 100% correct in your assessment. But its so hard to debate the actions of the characters when I don’t believe these are the same consistent characters. Its just bad, bad writing. It makes no sense. And yes. It lost its game of thronesness after season 6. No consequences for Cersi basically blowing up the vatican. M’kay. Lets get a zombie and she cersei! Why? She has her own zombie. She don’t give an F. Jaime spent his life being “dishonorable” to all of Westero for killing the mad king to save the city from burning. But cersei does it and he’s just cool with. Wtf. And yeah why murder Briennes character and have her sobbing over some guy.

Ikr I wonder who they gon support 🤭

Dani 💤

I’m going to hold my comment until the next episode bc I’m about to spit facts…to the Danny Haters.. So I’ll wait ⏰ Team Mother of Dragons 🐉

It’s annoying how everything is excused for everyone else, but danny does anything & ita she’s crazy. The amount of times she’s saverd Jon is crazy, without her all the north would of died.

Not gonna lie, im so excited for you guys to watch HOTD

Danny has killed people, his enemies, like everyone in this series, it's the time, either you kill or they kill you, especially if you want power but she has never abused it. The people of the north do not like her because they are closed people, not to mention racist, they have not even treated her as she deserved for going to help them. Now, it's easy to turn everything around and see Danny as the mad queen. SHe has tried to do everything right, following the plans of his advisers and it has not worked. Sansa is hateful, not only for telling Tyrion the truth, she has refuted all of Jon's decisions, all of them!!!!!!! If Jon doesn't want the throne, what need is there to tell about it? Tyrion is very much to blame for so many losses suddenly in season 7 they made him a fool. The whole series is thrown away, mistrusting Cercei and suddenly knowing how bad it is, it is believed that it will change ?????

Amen

100% yes. Thank you and well spoken!

Also to sum up what I felt about the last season and what you two were saying at the end. They didn't care about character arcs at the end. They decided on an ending and decided to go there without caring about the ways the characters developed, but then sprinkled a few “gotcha” moments in, like Brianne and Jamie.

CienFuegos

100%, probably cut the back half of this though, we are treading into spoiler territory. But yes the decisions Weiss and Benioff (spelling?) made to rush this ending has made me decide never to watch anything they create again because I don't believe they can reach the climax of the show properly.

CienFuegos

Everything Sophie said at the end was 100% facts. They needed more time to flesh out these plots. In an interview George R R Martin said that HBO gave the show creators the budget to do 10+ seasons if they wanted to. But they wanted to focus on directing other films and so they cut Game of Thrones short. Also everyone kept advising Dany not to burn the city so that she wouldn’t be viewed badly. I think all she had to do was fly to the Red Keep with a few guards on her dragon and take out Cersei and that problem would’ve been solved. With no queen, Dany’s army could’ve surrounded the city and forced a peaceful surrender, like Jaime did with the Blackfish/Lord Edmure at Riverrun.

One of my biggest issues with this episode, is how they shot down the dragon. I know that Euron Greyjoy is likely the most capable seaman. But it was still a new weapon mounted to the center of a boat on choppy waters and shooting further than he's ever shot. Not only that Dragons are likely to have much better eyesight than most and an entire fleet was hidden? Behind a small hill/mountain? But yet they could still see him long enough to get 2 successive perfect shots and from 2 different boats? This one really felt like it was written that way because they wanted it to happen.

CienFuegos

The show does lose itself and rush. They had no more full source material to draw on and so many threads to wrap up. And definitely fewer episodes in the last season limited it. That's how so many of us feel as well, rushed. Daenerys is more fit to be queen, a hundred times, than Circe. Oh I definitely despise Circe. Circe is horrible, and she needs to be beaten and die. I felt no sympathy during her walk of shame and she deserves worse. There's a lot of vile people in the show, but Circe really does take the cake because she's constantly being vile and really for little reason other than blind ambition and thinking she's better than everyone. Either you're like her or you're a fool, and either way she wants more power for herself than for you. Just constantly awful. Varys wants a better life for ordinary people. During Robert AND Joffrey's reign he's plotting to replace them with a Targaryen, don't forget that. Any option that requires mass murder of ordinary people isn't going to work for him, no matter how much better it might be afterwards. And that's the difference, its how many innocents die in "getting it done." Becoming Circe to beat Circe isn't a good option, because you build your rule on a pile of corpses. So take out Circe...but in taking our Circe you shouldn't kill tens of thousands of people who had no choice in the matter. Tens. Of. Thousands. Which is what would have happened if Daenerys hadn't listened to her advisors and just taken the city by fire. Once she let's go and gives into her rage, especially with her Targaryen blood, will she really just stop? That once the mass slaughter precedent is set, Dany would never use it again? The people who lost innocent family members if she had destroyed the city wouldn't just accept her rule, and then she has more foes, and she's going to burn those foes too. Even with the best of intentions starting your rule that way is going to create a spiral that just leads to domination, not beneficial rule The ends to not justify the means. Okay I know that was a long one but before it seems to negative I've loved your reactions and enjoyed you sharing them with us, thank you!

D Gyre

Her whole thing is she’s here to save the innocent from Cersei’s tyranny, her acting like Cersei completely erases that whole thing and makes the bloodshed even more unnecessary than it already is.

Halima

She been nuts since the end of season 5, I didn’t realise how terrible a ruler she was till season 7 though.

Halima

“You want her to be the mad king…what about Cersei” - well isn’t Dany supposed to be better?? She isn’t if she burns the city.

Tianabee

This where Dany got on my nerves. I didn’t like the fact that she wanted Jon not to tell Sansa and Arya the truth about who he really was. As far as I’m concerned they had a right to know especially the part where Ned never cheated on their mother. I know Dany wants that Iron throne more than anything but Jon had repeatedly said that he doesn’t want it. Look, I like Dany but she’s always been a little nuts…

Virgogrl

Finally i found you guys who think like me and is truly loyal to daenerys

Eduard Barbu

Full length?
