Milk of the Poppy is highly addictive, that's why Jaime doesn't want it. It'd be kind of like the equivalent of giving someone oxy for a terrible injury and then them not being able to kick it. It doesn't mean everyone will become addicted, but with the kind of pain Jaime is in both physically and emotionally, it makes sense he wouldn't want to take the chance. It's also important to note that Jaime was around the age of 16/17 at the time he killed the Mad King. It's a lot for such a young person. A heavy decision had to be made. I'm of the mind that Jaime is actually not a bad person, and that his behavior in regard to his children and Cersei is indicative of the loyalty he has toward them and sense of honor to protect them at all cost, even if it means harming someone else. It's not exactly right, but it's human to say the least. Davos cannot read. He comes from the slums and was a criminal. It's purely chance that he's reached the status he's at. Most people couldn't read unless you were noble or had a position where it was necessary to know how to read. Slaves, [most] servants, and the poor did not have the privilege of being literate. Also, I love yall DOWN but the way yall be talkin over dialogue sends me into a tizzy every time lmaooo whew chiiilllaaayyyyyyy

Great reaction and discussion. I like the current format. Remember Jamie is also often called Oathbreaker and that might be even worse then Kingslayer. In this world where there is no real legal system a mans word is very important, even more if you swear an oath on it. When you are constantly referred to as Oathbreaker everyone will think you are not trustworthy.
