Gandalf isn't a bad guy y'all. He's just worried lol. Pippin could've gave everything away to Sauron about Frodo and the Ring. It's vital that Frodo's task is kept as a secret from Sauron. Also you gotta remember, Gandalf already died and he doesn't wanna fail again. Gandalf has a mission to save Middle-earth too.
