When the Starks and others put down the Greyjoy rebellion, Theon was taken to be raised by the Starks as a sort of hostage. This was a custom in the history of our own world. Sometimes when a rebellion was put down, the victors might take every firstborn son to be raised as fighting men but not citizens. Should their people start another rebellion these hostages would be among the first casualties. It was insurance of a sort.

2023-05-14 21:53:25 +0000 UTCLol I don’t know if you guys got the innuendo in the scene with Tyrion, Varys, and Shae. When they were talking about fish pie they were talking about Vagina. Tyrion (and others in the show) think Varys is gay. Shae implied she thought he was gay when she said”I don’t think he likes fish pie”. She was kind of messing with him. If you look back at that scene and know when they are talking about fish they are talking about vagina it’s so funny.
