Great episode, and that scene with Richard and Isabella at the end is top 5 scenes in Lost. I think what happened with Richard in the first part of this episode is similar to where Ben was in Dr. Linus... Not going "bad", but losing their faith in Jacob/The Island after Jacob's death. They aren't aware of all of Jacob's plans, so for Richard, he views Jacob's death as the end of his life's work. But there's more to do.

It's great because we always saw Richard as very confident in himself, calm and as a strong character, but now we see him so broken.

Top 5 episode! Nestor Carbonell kills it as Ricardo/Richard. So since we first saw him in season 3, his age would be around 170-180. And apparently Jacob and Shadow are way older. Hmmm. Egyptian times are around 5000-2000 years ago.

Hell yes (pun) I’ve been waiting for your reaction for this episode. It’s widely considered to be among the best episodes of Lost ever. It was perfect.

I love Richard's backstory so much. It is achingly bittersweet. Nestor's acting is tremendously underrated. Great reaction, Mike!

God, Nestor Carbonell gives the most heartbreaking performance in this. That scene with his wife's ghost makes me cry every single time. One of the best episodes of any show, not just LOST. Ooph, got me all emotional at noon on a Thursday over here.
