2024-10-05 05:37:57 +0000 UTCCompletely unintentionally, one suggestion for each of the last five decades, and one for the current decade. "Suspiria" (1977), experimental Italian atmospheric horror. "Dead Calm" (1989), it made me a fan of Billy Zane, Nicole Kidman, and Sam Neill. "Dark City" (1998), Kiefer Sutherland is fantasic and the plot makes sense. "The Others" (2001) is just so reasonable, building brick on brick to create horror, all on Nicole Kidman's acting. "The Autopsy of Jane Doe" (2016), because I am a wimp, it took me two viewings to get through to the end. "Nope" (2022), everyone in this is good and it makes more sense than the popular alternative. And because it seems it has been forgotten "Angel Heart" as if we need more evidence that Robert De Niro can act, but Mickey Rourke is so watchable. And the controversy over Ms. Bonet's casting has been lost.

It started SO many tropes, but if you watch it while keeping in mind that almost everything it did was innovative and bold, you'll see it transcends standard slasher analysis (AND you can hunt for that tooth image that looks like the one you posted on here).
