"The Time Machine" is required viewing as the ur example of time travel in movies as the book is in literature. After that I have a soft spot for "Time After Time", it is Hollywood fan-fiction, a lovely rewriting of The Time Machine following the consequences of one changed detail; the story is interesting, the cast good, all in only Somewhere in Time would get a high vote from me. "Timecop" is the quintessential time travel movie, it has just about every time travel trope tied-up in an enjoyable romp that is one of Jean-Claude Van Damme's better movies. "Source code" is the most unusual of the time travel movies here, exploring a different aspect of the concept and doing it well. 12 Monkeys is a good movie with time travel that is central to the plot but, [not a spoiler] like many of Terry Gilliam's movies it is not a happy movie. Time Bandits has time travel that is the least interesting part of the fantasy movie, on the other hand is it a much more enjoyable movie that Mr. Gilliam's 12 Monkeys. Edge of Tomorrow is an immensely enjoyable movie, technically a good movie, but it fits into a time travel sub-genre. Looper was well received but I failed to like it for reasons I am unsure of. Timeline has a fantastic cast, unfortunately it is not a good movie; it is an enjoyable bad movie though. I can't comment on Safety, I haven't seen it yet.
