Help me continue to narrow down more movies for reactions once our October lineup is finished:

That's an interesting choice. (There maybe microscopic spoilers in the third paragraph) The Last Samurai "very loosely" based on real events is very enjoyable adventure and despite accusations isn't, at least in my opinion, a "white saviour" narrative. Nathan Algren, the Tom Cruise character, makes little difference to the plot or actions of other characters and seems to be there largely as a viewpoint character for western audiences. The Hunt for Red October by contrast is wholely fictional, with, we are told, no basis in fact. Yet it is so historically accurate regarding the feel, attitudes, and politics of the time it could be wholely historical. Likewise the technically accuracy concerning submarines at the time is so good, only a submariner of the time would notice discrepancies, at least this is what I have read. Much of the spoken Russian is according to one native speaker abysmal.

Promiscuous

The Hunt for Red October is one of my favorite movies (and books), and there aren't many reactions to it out there.
